I just received a ipv d2 today and I am having an issue with it. I have a Atlantis v2 on it and at 7 watts it is still producing lots of vapor. Why is it doing this?
I have tried all of my tanks Atlantis v1, aromamizer, velocity, tfv4 and the results are the same. I pulled the battery and will discontinue to use it until I find out what's wrong.
Please help!

If youre using wattage mode, the D2 cant buck (step down) voltage. The workaround is to use TC mode, you wont get temperature control, but it will step down. Use the menus to set up...
- select joule mode
- set temperature to max (300C)
- display now reads joules, use this like wattage (set 7.0J)
- press up/down simultaneously to lock in resistance
- enjoy

Hmmm i have had a problem with ipv's when you hit the fire button the resistance jumps see if its doing that... if it does you got a bad connection somewhere or the center screw is not making a solid connection... granted that was with an ipv2 and an ipv 4s... havnt used the ipv d2 i sometimes would have to essentially crank in the tank to get a good enough connection. Hope that helps

This ^^^^^

We figured this out on release and information is in the IPV-D2 Thread.

Simple to accommodate low Kanthal builds by running from TC mode.

*Why do people purchase High wattage devices to tootlepuff? o_O

I have had and am currently using a D2 - TC/Ti mode and it is a Fantastic performing Mod. I have just ordered a second D2 due to Quality and price drop.
For me, the slight feature change to the D3 is not worth the difference.

The resistance is staying the same.
The vape is cool at 7 watts and warms up quite nice at 40 watts.
I wouldn't think it would fire the coils at all when set at 7 watts, my xcube 2 won't.

Different Chip, Different Build/design, Different mod. Nothing bad about it that I have found.

Isn't this the mod that spikes the power to max at startup?

No - That would be the VTC-mini coming out of Sleep -Very brief, under a quarter second, burst.

IPV-D2 Vapes very much like the SX mini M Class set to Standard curve.

X Cube II likely cannot lower the Voltage enough to fire.(Dual batteries in series)

I did that and I don't get any vape.
I Just to make myself clear, I don't want to vape this set up at 7 watts I was just surprised that the mod fired the coils at 7 watts. I normally vape this coil at 40 watts
I want to make sure that I understand, it is normal for a .4 ohm coil to fire at 7 watts while in power mode?

No, What?
I never said the D2 had the J chip.
I am fully aware of the chipsets in Both my Mods and fully aware of their performance similarities and differences.
I own the SX mini M Class and the IPV-D2

* I Said the D2 chip is Different from the IPV3/4 Designs and it is.

@ .4 in wattage mode it would fire a 30 watts set to 7 watts ...............
So if I set it at 7 watts it's going to fire at 30 watts? I am trying to figure this one out, it just doesn't make sense to me. I guess I don't know as much as I thought I did.
What is it firing at if I have it set to 40 watts in power mode?
