Hey guys,

I'm somewhat new to vaping to bare with me :)

I have a IPV D2, great little device. I bought a kangertech subtank mini for it and it worked great for maybe 1-2 weeks. It then started burning my throat and the juice was burning up (I was vaping below 30 watts at all times). I swapped the coils for new ones and I still had the same problem. The tank also leaked like crazy from the vents so I decided I needed something new. I also want to vape at higher wattage for bigger clouds so I was recommended the TFV4 Mini.

I just got the TFV4. I took it apart to prime the cotton, let the juice sit for about half an hour before I started using it. The vents are all open inc the dripper. I started using it, great device. It takes a few hauls to warm up and start producing real smoke, which I assume is normal. One thing I also noticed is that when I take a big haul the juice makes a boiling noise. Is that normal? I'm curious on other peoples experiences with this atomizer.

Thanks!

Honestly, I think you are ahead of your experience level.

Subtank is one of the simplest and best Mid-level tanks on the market.
Coil heads are Disposable parts and wear out, sometimes quickly.
Use cannot be measured in days or weeks, but rather in ML used and E-liquid type.
Improper/impatient priming can destroy a new coil. They need to be fully saturated before any attempt to use.

As for leaking, that is generally a user error. Not properly assembled or a damaged seal.
Air in = liquid out.

TFV4 is a killer tank.
The D2 does not have enough power to fully utilize its abilities.
Most coils recommend 80w+ and can handle 130w-140w
Close the Tip air flow to boost efficiency through the coil.(more coil air flow) This may fix the gurgling,

I think you can safely max out your wattage on your D2 when using the TFV4. Not sure which coil you have in there right now but it should easily be able to handle the 75w the D2 can provide it.
Do check you battery before you do so since the D2 only has one battery, it needs to be a proper one. (high discharge battery)
If you upped the wattage, your first pull should provide you vape straight away. Warming up should not take more than a bit of a second. If it takes much longer, your device is under powered as compared to the coil you are using.

The 'boiling' sound you are describing is most likely caused by the coil not being hot enough to properly heat all the liquid present which ends up bubbling or gurgeling near the coil.

Don't be alarmed, some 'vaporizing' noise when firing will almost always happen. There are to many variables to list how much and what kind of noises you might expect.

While many of the TFV4's stock coils are designed for as much (or more) power your D2 can put out, many of the tanks come with a RBA deck which the user (via type of build) can control how much power that may be needed.

For example: the single coil RBA I'm currently using has a 0.82ohm SS430 build that I'm vaping with 20W with my SXminiM. (I love the top fill of the TFV4)

Ah ok, it's somewhat bothering me, it just doesn't seem normal...?

I definitely wont attempt the RBA until I'm more familiar on how it all works :)

Are you using the stock coil that came installed?
    That would be the Tri-coil - 80w-130w
Don't run the D2 Below 1/2 Battery - not enough push to maintain 75w :)
