Yeah, they are fine for this device, and most things. You just have to know they are 20 amp continuous. The guy I was replying to was asking about switching from VTC4s 30amp to the MXJO 20 amp battery, because they market it in a misleading fashion as a 35amp. I just wanted to make him aware of that so he didn't treat it as a 35amp continuous battery.

20 amp 2500mah batteries are great for a mini II.

Awesome, thanks! I was really hoping I wasn't missing something and needed to put in an emergency battery order [emoji3]

Woohoo! Got mine in the mail today from eciggity! So far I'm really loving it, it seems to hit smoother somehow than my kbox even though I'm using the same wattage.

Also, I'm pretty stoked that mine has the goat on it, I wasn't expecting it to.
Better get a wrap on it or your goat will get away!:)

I KNOW! :( I was pretty sure the black paint would be fragile before I even ordered the thing, and now I'm even more conscious of touching it with my juice fingers, since it has something actually painted on it. I have a couple vinyl wraps for my CF batteries, and I'm not crazy about how they feel, they're kinda slippery and I just don't care for the texture they have. I don't see very many other IPV mini case options, either. I want a silicone skin, but so far I can only find them on Alibaba in quantities of 20+. I hope that some US vendors get on the ball and start stocking them, before Mr. Goat is toast.

Somebody could probably run a GB for one on here, between the ipv mini and mini II I'm sure there are at least 20 ECF members that'd be down for at least one skin. Hell, I'd be in for probably two myself.

I need another mod like I need a third ear, but... I have one IPV mini 2 black coming. I want to see how it compares to the Yihi SX mini. Same SX330 board inside, so I suppose I will get the same smooth vape at low power as the SX mini. I daily vape on a Nautilus, so I will go above 20W only for testing (read, blowing a good coil). Paid fifty British pounds shipped first class.
BTW, the goat printed on it. Year 2015 is the Year of the Goat in China, so the drawing - I think - is a sort of celebrative indication.

Well, its not the same chip. But, other than lack of step down on the mini 2, you should be able to have a happy.

I don't know if that will be a fair comparison, but I'll be interested in hearing back. They have quite a difference in price.

They have different boards, SX mini uses the high-end SX350 mini, while the ipv mini II uses the mainstream SX330 v2c board. Major difference is the mini II doesn't really buck voltage much/if at all.

Yes, ummm............I think your information is incorrect. However I do believe you will find the mini2 fully capable of delivering a nice anywhere between properly built coil to minimum voltage and 70w.

7w will require about a 2.4ohm coil.

SX350 is a completely different chip set.

Received my second iPV Mini 2 today and when it fires, the battery meter on the screen bottoms out. Is this normal? It may do it on my other one but I never noticed it. FYI, running on a fully charged 25r at .3ohms at 60watts.

Looking at the KP battery tests which are roughly 20A pulse tests, and in this case at 60W, you're looking at at least 15A, then a big sag (down to 3.4-3.6v) is to be expected. That's just the deal when you've got a powerful device running powerfully on a single 18650 battery. Could be an older battery. Could be a "lower bin" battery. But even a fresh new sammy, when it's all by itself, will sag like the dickens under that kind of load.

My little single 18650 SX350 box will do the very same thing when running at +40W. These are just the limits of the currently available battery technology. And while it is nice to have all that power at the ready when I fancy a quick dripper session, I mostly use single battery APV's for higher ohm tank setups that don't need more than 30W to yield maximal toot satisfaction.

I thought about trying that (I've seen people doing it on Reddit) but I wasn't sure if it was allowed or how to go about it. I'm not in the classifieds, as I have neither eBay nor PayPal. I have thought about emailing to see if I can use my Etsy store feedback instead of an eBay, but I haven't got around to it.

I have friends who order jewelry supplies for resale off Alibaba, and they've assured me that it is safe for the most part, but I've never done it before.

Is that (a group order) something that is allowed here? And if so, what would I do to set it up? I've thought about just ordering 20 of the darn things and keeping them in my car for the inevitable "where did you get THAT!?" at the vape shop. :) I could have sold a million of SillyNilly's tooled leather iStick sleeves by now if I'd had them. :D

Yep. :) That's why it says "souvenir 2015" under the goat head. Apparently, though, some people are associating the goat with The Debbil, (all this time, I thought foosball was the debbil) and asking the manufacturer to leave it off their batch. ;D

Yeah, they have a group buy/CO OP section in the classifieds area. I'm not sure what it takes to run one, never done it.

Lol @ selling them out of your car. Reminds me of a scene from a movie or something where they sell goods out of the back of a van in an alley.

Do you have a link to the listing? I'm surprised they haven't made it to a vender here in the US yet, on eBay, or otherwise.

Here it is:
2015 New Arrival Ipv Mini Case Silicone Case Ipv Mini 30w Box Mod Ipv Mini Box Mod - Buy Ipv Mini Box Mod,Ipv Mini 30w Box Mod,Ipv Mini Case Product on Alibaba.com

They are for the 30w, it says, but I believe it and the 70w are identical? I'm surprised too that some vendor hasn't snapped them up and started selling them domestically, given the paint problem the IPV mini apparently has. Maybe they have ordered them and are waiting on them. That listing has only been around a month, it looks like.

I've been sort of obsessively googling every day or so in the hopes that these will pop up on a US vendor site. I don't think I'd be able to set up a group buy, since I am not in the classifieds yet. But if someone else decides to, I want in! (And have an Etsy store with plenty of feedback to prove that I am a real human with money and not a robot or a Nigerian prince)

When pulling more than 15 Amp from a 18650, you must be *absolutely* sure that its internal resistance is lower than 50 milliohm, lower the better. Not all IMR batteries from the same batch achieve such stellar performance, this is why I use AW -which are cherry-picked for the job. Mods manufacturers, with built-in batteries, routinely use Li-Poly cells, where the low internal resistance is warranted by design. Unfortunately Li-Poly have no case (are encased in a foil bag) and must be soldered, so there are no option for end-users to use Li-Poly in a mod.
BTW, back to the IPV mini 2. Should receive it tomorrow. I ordered it under the convintion it used the same chip of the SX mini; I already feel scrambled. Age-related problems, I guess.
By reading the specs of the IPV mini2, I see minimum voltage 3.6 V.: it means that, with a 0.5 Ohm Atlantis, I cannot go below 25 Watt? I don't think so, therefore it must use a form of PWM to decrease the power.
If can't go lower than 25W with 0.5 Ohm - cross fingers it will - I guess it will collect dust on a shelf.
I have a 510 break-out box and a o'scope, I post again with some findings in the next days. I can't find any real (technical) review of the mini2 yet on Internet. I now routinely skip all those -how big is a cloud -how it fit well my hand - how tasty the vape is - kind of reviews, that -annoyingly- are becoming the majority.
Happy vape

That is correct. There is no PWM on this device, it will let you set the wattage lower on screen, but cannot actually provide that wattage, it will just dump battery at that point, kind of like bypass mode on the SX mini.

I will look forward to your technical analysis, it too annoys me that there is no technical reviews out there for this device. All you can find about this device is that it chucks it, or its not too shabby, etc.

OK, let me see if I understand…I've been running my Subtank Nano (.5 coil) at around 20w on the IPV mini since I got it…but you are saying that it is not actually 20w even though it says so on the screen? It is actually 25w or higher? I couldn't use that tank with my high VG juice on my Kbox over 20w, because it tasted burnt. I am not getting that effect on the IPV. Is it all in my head, or am I misunderstanding the entire discussion?

And yeah, I see that you only have to order 10 pieces now. I am seriously considering just ordering 10 black ones when I get paid this week. It looks like they run about 2.50 per piece, though I haven't heard back from the manufacturer with a quote. I could unload 9 of them here in town just to people I see at the vape shop. Heck, the shop might even want them.
