So Cal
(2) possibilities I know of not Failing related.
1) Battery low enough to cycle unit off - I've seen that a few times
2) upper contact needs a good cleaning. - My 70w is fine but I had to take the side off one of my 30w's a few days ago. I lifted the upper contact out of its mounting and cleaned it with an emery board. The mod was shutting of intermittently and when tightening the battery cap. Works like new again.

Nice to know, just in case!

Yea, got the mod thread confused and messed it all up. Sorry about that. Regardless, you are correct in NOT using Passthru as it is still not supported officially - i.e. by Yihi
YiHiEcigar SX330 V2 S 60w
USB for Charging

I linked that because the SX330v2c is likely the factory 70w upgraded SX330v2s chip and the V2c Data sheet is not available on site.
This is a Power upgraded chip specifically for the IPV and most likely simply the Firmware upgrade to 70w with P4Y's logo on screen.
May not even actually be a production V2c but rather P4Y's designation for the upgraded/Flashed power SX330v2s since Yihi list all their production models.
Noted the SX330v3c 100w(closest designation) only list USB Charging yes

Completely agree. Using pass through for almost, if not all devices isn't a good idea.

I went into a shop today to get some more juice. One of the employees asked me how I liked my mini 2 and said it looks like I've had it awhile. I looked down and saw where the paint had flaked off in three places. About 1/8th inch round for each. Ugh! About 3 weeks with it...Maybe! I'm not mad though! I love it.

Yea, that's a known issue. The iPV Mini 1 & 2 tend to scratch easily. There's been sites posted in this thread (vaporskinz, Jwraps) that have skins for it. They protect it from scratches, cover up scratches, and also help with grip (especially the textured wraps).

Received mine today and loving it thus far! Loving the SubTank Mini also. I like it better than the full size SubTank but I do miss the capacity.

I'm currently using a VTC4 but I'm wondering if a MXJO would be better? It is rated 35A on the wrapper and is higher mAh. Thoughts?

Also, do you guys change batteries more or charge with USB?

Awesome. I like my STmini quite a bit more than my OG Subtank. The RBA in the mini is especially nice.

No on the MXJO, they are 20amp continuous, 35amp pulse. They just market them in a misleading manner. Plus MXJO doesn't actually make battery cells, they are likely rewrapped LG batteries, they are rewrapped something that is certain.

Stick with your VTC4s, or if you want higher mah, go for a Samsung 25R, or LG HE4 they are about the best high drain 2500mah 18650s available right now.

Awesome, I received mine two days ago and love it too. I went with the ST nano though. I've tried the ST Mini and I honestly like the vape I get from the ST Nano more (I'm pinning it to the shorter distance to the drip tip from the coil, but it could be all in my head). I moved from RDAs so having a smaller tank is still a huge improvement from having to constantly add juice to a RDA.

I noticed you're at the same exact setting as me too (.5ohm coil set at 20W). I've been using Samsung 25R 2500mAh with nearly all my devices and I'd suggest them for the iPV Mini 2. mAh isn't everything and the 25Rs are more than enough to handle what the iPV has to offer. Especially since if you continue to use the same settings we're currently using. I feel like since we have the same device/RTA( almost)/settings you're the man and we should be friends hahahaha

Yessir! I went with the Mini specifically because it has the RBA section. Otherwise, I'd have gone with the Nano too. I have the silver standard Mini 2 and have a black YOTG edition in the mail also as we speak. We'll be matching big time then!

Nice! I know that the RBA sounds like a great idea, but a lot of people have said that the vape quality is nowhere near as good as the OCC coils. So I'd recommend rebuilding the OCC coils. It's actually pretty simple to do and you get a much better vape than when using the RBA. There's a bunch of tutorials on YT that show you how to do it (I'm a fan of RipTrippers, but there are plenty of others).

People that say the vape quality on the rba head is nowhere near as good as OCC are doing it wrong.

I've rebuilt a couple. The Atlantis coils I'd rebuild were better than stock but the SubTank coils I rebuilt, for some reason, you could taste the metallic-ness of the kanthal. Maybe I'm crazy?

I overstated saying nowhere near as good, but there are a lot of people who say that using rebuilt OCC coils are better than using the RBA deck. I'm not doubting that you can make the RBA deck better than the rebuilt OCC coils, but that's just what I heard from a lot of reputable people on forums, YT, etc. So I take their word on it. I've only recently made the switch from RDAs to RTAs and I'm not saying I'm the greatest builder, but I def. know what I'm doing. My friend has the ST Mini and he got the the RBA deck as well so I'm gonna give it a go and see if it's really true or not.

P.S. I see you around the forum often and you def. seem to have a good reputation, so that's why I say I take your word on it. Have you built on the ST Mini's RBA deck? If so, you got a recommendation on what type of build to do?

I don't know about my reputation, haha, I am no expert.

I haven't tried a kanthal build yet, been doing ni200 builds on the rba head, and am having much better results versus the nickel OCCs.

For kanthal I would start with twisted 30g around 2.5-3mm ID as that's my go to single coil build for RTAs.

Even a regular ole spaced 26g coil should be pretty good/on par with OCCs if wicking correctly.

I'd check out the subtank mini thread, and/or the subtank rba thread for some ideas. Depends on how crazy you want to get I suppose.

Maybe that's the difference, using kanthal vs nickel. Most people use kanthal wires so that could be a reason why people say it's not as good as the rebuild of the OCC. I'm heading to my boy's place tonight to build a coil for the RBA, make a kanthal and ni200 and see if there's a difference. I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Decided to give kanthal a go in the Subtank mini. I still think its better than the stock OCCs.
