It's on the sidewall, copper tube defect maybe?

Man , that is a tough spot to get to. I don't know if you could get something in there to push on it, maybe it will pop out. Kind of sucks having to send it back if you can't fix it. You could try some emery cloth wrapped around something and then sand the bump down a bit, might be good enough, so it won't wear your battery to bad. If you do the emery cloth thing make sure you blow it out good after, maybe stick some paper towel down the tube to keep the grit out.

Okay here is my problem with IPV Mini 2:

I've been using mechs (sir lancelot and hammer) with 1.0 ohm kayfun lite without any problem, no burnt tasteno loss of flavor.

Now I received the mini 2 (looks good, not heavy like VTR, small and suitable for a stealth vape, easy to adjust wattage). I adjusted to 16.0 W. Couple of hits were fine. A little later it started to give hot burnt taste. Dropped it to 12W, huge loss of flavor. Now it's around 14W and still not getting the satisfaction like the mechs and can't taste my juice. I thought it will be okay since I don't go below 1.0 ohms.

What am I doing wrong here? Tried the kayfun back on mechs and no problem with a full charged battery. What should I do?

Is the resistance jumping around on the mini? That's the only thing I could think of that would cause the issue you are reporting. If it IS, try tightening down your coil or just put in a new build. Since the Mini is a regulated device, if your resistance is changing due to connection... it will fire higher than your set wattage, making it an awful vape.

The resistance is stable, not jumping up and down or changing or anything. I tried the RBA on my VTR and even with the highest wattage (15W for VTR) it was a cold vape, like it needs more power. On mini 2, with the 15W, I have some amount of mid-hot vapor, much less flavor comparing to mechs, almost can't taste it. Started to think if it was a good idea to have this mod.

Try playing around with the wattage a bit ... perhaps go lower and see if that helps. It's hard to compare it to your mechs because there are variables like voltage drop and battery sag that effect the output power you are getting to the coil in that mech. You *should be able to get a good vape on your kayfun using the mini if you are getting a good vape using your mech.

Great pic Rob!! I'm thinking of getting the same exact setup, Mini2 & Subtank Mini!! :D
I've had the IPV3 for a few months now and love it. But wish I waited for the Mini V2, the IPV3 is a little too big and clunky for me - and I don't need all that battery life and definitely don't need 150w.. Still have the sticker on my screen too lol, might get a black j-wrap for it and get a silver Mini2.

The IPV3 is great with my Atlantis or Billow Tank (and drippers), but I Think I'll like the Mini/Subtank (/Billow) even more!! Waiting for prices to drop
:p

Simple, you are picking and poking.
Started to high likely. The Mini2 does put out the power well.
Okay, after finding you had it to High <- Never assume when changing devices -> You did the Smart thing and turned it down. Of course you may have already done coil/wick damage(degraded)

You need to simply start low and slowly work up to find the sweet spot. You cannot reference Mod(X) to Mod (Y)

You may need to replace the wick/coil to start over fresh.

* Not sure on the Mini2, but the mini fires 1v hotter for .8 seconds before leveling off. Pre-heat:D

Got mine yesterday, came with a couple of tiny scratches on the paint which was initially a little disappointing but I ordered a jwrap.Aside from that nothing huge. 510 connection is nice and straight.

Battery is a tight fit, not sure if anyone else has experienced this? I peaked in there and theres a little bump in the tube.not sure if I should return it. I have to kind of force it in a bit half way through and it looks like its scratching the battery a little bit, I'm worried it will eventually rub through the plastic.

I have the same thing. On the Mini V1, it's super smooth. V2 is a bit tight. I've basically tried wiggling the inside to see if something's not press-fit quite right. I seem to have opened it up a bit, and swapping the battery isn't as rough. I'm not keen on the endcap. Not enough "knurl" for me to get my fingers on, but it's not the end of my world.

Running a Subtank Nano. Just rewicked the 0.5 ohm OCC last evening. Not too hideous of a process, so I'm hoping to extend the life of the coils. I also fell "victim" to the quick price change (I'd ordered on a Saturday and had some "questions" from Vapenw about my shipping address being different from my billing address - even though I'd ordered from Vapenw a month prior with the exact same address combination???? Almost cancelled the order as a result. Monday, the price dropped to $59.99) I sent a support request asking about the price difference, and I've never heard back from them. I'm disappointed because I'd gotten my Mini V1 in December from them, and the process was stellar. Had the iStick 50W and another Nano in my shopping cart, but I may just order from MVS now....

After buying the iPV mini about a month ago, then discovering that the v2 came out about 10 days after... I had a clear cut case of mod envy.

I sold my v1 today and replaced it with the v2 from my local B&M because I like the guy and he's a good dude. I was happy that I still had my v1 with me and swapped the battery over to the new v2 to test the vape 1:1. Didn't have any atty on it yet, and hadn't even turned it on... whamo the thing got hot quick. Must have been a direct short because in 5-10 seconds that 18650 was cooking! Removed the batt as quick as I could with that slick battery cap and threw the batt outside to cool! One really good reason to test a mod in the store... he started to blame my batt, then put one of his own batts in and the same thing happened to his! He obviously replaced it immediately!

I do not like the slick batt cover on the v2, so I swapped my nicely knurled v1 cap over to the v2. Love the black screen, and I swear when set at the same wattage setting as the v1, this v2 is a lil better! Now I gotta get a new wrap again! I like the SX330 chipset much better, with the fastforward on wattage and them dropping things like the mobile and pwm. Still wish in an emergency "need to vape" situation that it would do passthrough, but I've read the SX330 doesn't do passthrough!

Oh, and my batteries are all much tighter fitting... especially the last 1/2"! I inspected the inner battery tube and I have the same identical "bump" that DEA7H INC showed in his photo! I have to pull the batteries to get them to come out, where they simply slid out on my V1.

I just had to test the USB and pass thru... My IPV Mini V2 showed charging via USB and let me vape while on the USB charger! I had read here on ECF that the V2 didn't allow USB pass thru---???

Anyone care to comment?

Just because you can, doesn't necessarily mean you should. Pioneer4you didn't include a proper manual for the mini v2, if you look at the manual for the ipv2/s/x (same board as mini v2) it states not to use the device while USB charging, even though it did seem to work on those.

Personally I tend to follow the manufacturer's recommendations on these cheap China mods, I already feel like they could fail/melt/burn up at any point for any reason, no need to push it.

Most likely it's like the evic; a pesudo-passthru. It uses the battery power when you vape while pauses the charging, but when not in use, continues charging.

Thanks for that extra info!

Although the display still shows the charging "lightning bolt" even when pressing the fire button!

I love the avatar by the way!

My vapor wrapz black carbon fiber wrap arrived today. I like it just as much as the original finish only now it's nice and grippy.

Did you mean Vapor Skins or JWraps?

It sure does look nice! I had a VS on my iPV Mini V1 and loved the Dark Tamo Wood, but they're sold out right now!
