A friend of mine is buying my vaporshark so I decided to purchase one. Can't wait for it to compliment my 100 watt plus and sx mini
If the mini 70w uses a sx330v3c board then it is also not updatable according to yihi:
IPV4 powered by SX330 V3C
I was under the impression it used the sx330v2c board, which is what the ipv2x used as well (even if pioneer4you omitted that on their excellent product page).

It is powered by the new YiHi SX330v2 50 Watt Chip.
iPv2X 60watt VW Box mod By Green Leaf SX330v2,
Keyboard error missed - SX330v2c is the correct designation.
Where do you keep getting that the IPV2x runs the SX330v2v chip?
That Chip was announced for the IPV mini2 70w during Pre-release
IPV2X was released in Dec. and if you want possible Miss-information - Eciggity Claims it is the SX330v2 - 50 watt chip powering the IPV2X
iPV2X 60 Watt Box Mod - Eciggity
iPv2X 60watt VW Box Mod By Green Leaf SX330v2, Doge RDA, Sony Vtc5, Wall Plug - Moosevapes
Again - Compared - NOT the same Chips I have done the visual confirmation of difference in builds.

I am waiting for my IPV mini (30 watt) to arrive. I have the Clouper Mini and am loving it, too. I am happier with being able to change batteries vs having them built in and wondering when they will die. I still use my Provari, too, but love the vv/vw option on these little guys.
Snip..........
Either way, my original point that the mini II is not software updatable by the end user is still valid as of this post.
I also don't know why it matters, 70W is more than enough for a single 18650 device.
Never disagreed there. No upgrades and definitely no reason. 70w is rough enough on a single 18650.
Oh, would love to see the Pic - link not working.![]()
Gotcha, it was probably just listed incorrectly as a v2c by the vendor I bought it from, wouldn't surprise me. I was curious what the board has printed on it so I cracked it open earlier:

So its a SX 330S V2 board PCB rev 1.5 for what that is worth, hah. Definitely not the same board as mini II, you are correct.

ThunderDan:
I'd still like to know where you read/heard that the SX330 in the mini II is not sw upgradeable?
Also, upping the wattage isn't the only reason for a firmware upgrade.
What I meant in that last post was it is not sw updatable as of that post, because, well its not.
Whether it is capable, or will ever have an update we cannot be certain of until p4u, or yihi puts out a spec sheet on the device/board.
I think its fairly safe to say the mini ii will not be user updatable given p4u's track record (both ipv3 and ipv2s explicitly advertised sw updates before they were launched), and the naming convention of the board (no other yihi sx 330 'c' boards are sw updatable), but that is just my opinion.
If not for a wattage increase, why do you feel it needs a firmware update? I've used my coworkers and it functions extremely well, exactly like the ipv2x I have, even if they aren't identical boards. I cannot say the same for the ipv mini I have, that thing could use a firmware update (screen garbles intermittently, ohm reading is off, power output is weak).

I can live with it as is.I've had my mini 2 for a couple days now and want to see if others are having the same experiences.
1. When I lock it pressing the up and down buttons to throw in a pocket, sometimes it completely turns off and I have to do a 5 press to turn it back on. Haven't had this happen (yet).
2. Having to do a 5 press to turn it on/off ,it takes way too long compared to other mods I have used. About 5 seconds worth of logo screens.
3. After taking a vape the screen dims, but stays on instead of going off. Sometimes it stays on for a few seconds, sometimes it goes off immediately and sometimes it stays on indefinitely. Yes, with no rhyme or reason.I've not seen it go off immediately, but sometimes it goes dim and stays dim indefinitely. Other times it goes dark after a little while (as I assume it should).
Other than those gipes it seems to be a solid mod. I'm just wondering if I shoould see about getting a replacement if others are not having the same issues.

Thanks for the reply guys. As another poster pointed out with the issue I was having with it turning off when locking in my pocket. I tried to replicate it just placing it on a side table next to me and also carrying it in my inside jacket pocket and and it hasn't done it since, so it's acting as it should and no problems.
Dropped mine twice now, once from about three feet and once off my lap after standing up almost had a heart attack both times. Still works like new, so it is durable.
