It takes about 4 hours. I tried it once, just to see. But it is SO MUCH easier just to swap out the batteries. I can charge 2 18650s in about 2.5 hours on my charger, and toss them in a case and into my purse, and TBH one 18650 in this mod lasts me most of the day vaping at 40+ watts pretty heavily. I have 5 batteries in rotation, and I can't believe that I resisted changeable batteries in mods for so long because it is so much simpler than waiting forever for my mod to charge.

coming from a mech mod before, i am kinda used to the swapping batteries thing and used to carrying right about 5 batts a day..planning to reduce it to 2 or if the run time is as good as you say possibly one..
hehehehehhe
and i sit at my desk for 9 hours and only get like a 1.5 hour break,(not allowed to vape at work)
and i just wanted to know if in case that i need to charge at my pc the mod can..

It charges at .5A so about 4 or 5 hours depending on how drained the battery is and its capacity.

thanks for the reply mate...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it has passthrough too. I've not used it that way, but I think other people on here have.

Yea right - Please explain to me how you can pull 30w-40-70w off a .5a-1a charging circuit?

The proper term is Charge while Vaping and it requires enough reserve in the BATTERY to supply power for vaping.

NEVER attempt to Passthru vape on a Depleted Battery bigger than an authentic EGO 650(3.3v) battery

Yeah, apparently I used the wrong word. My sincerest apologies. I was going off the specs from the website where I purchased mine, which stated "supports pass through charging".

Yes, unfortunately it is a very misleading way of wording. Unfortunately many China Manufacturers use similar language, like Passthru Available.

As long as you know hte battery is not depleted you should be able to safely Vape.
As for myself, I just swap out a fresh battery and charge on a dedicated charger.

I don't vape while I'm charging. I used to do it with my old MVP 2…but it makes me nervous trying to do it with anything else. My eGrip felt so hot the one time I tried to vape and charge it that I bought an extra so I could vape one while the other was charging. So much easier to just swap a fresh battery in to one device than to have to have multiples anyway. :)

FWIW, if anyone is looking for a silicone case for the IPV mini 2…I just got one off eBay. Here is the listing: Silicone Case Sleeve Skin for The IPV Mini Box Mod | eBay

It fits perfectly, feels nice, and the screen cut-out is a little more square than rectangular, but it does not obscure any of the stuff on the screen, and I can see how if they'd made it any longer it might have made the area around the buttons too thin and risked it tearing when you take it on and off.

What exactly happened?
What steps have you taken to resolve?

It did the screen scramble freak out thing. Then wouldn't turn back on. I tried cleaning all the contacts, and it turned back on but still had the scrambled screen. It still fires, you just can't see any of the settings, so not completely dead in the water.

If your willing to remove the side plate - you can lift out the upper contact and try sanding it lightly. Sounds like it is not pulling full power. While open you could tank a quick look at all the solder points. Everything is easy to see/reach on the v1.

Does the battery indicator strobe rather than dip?

I will try that this weekend. Thanks for the tip.

Ofc, after you asked about the battery, put a vtc4 in, and bam all is well. Maybe it was just a fluke, I'll need to test it more, but it turned on, screen was normal. Fired a STmini, and battery sag looked normal too.

It was my wife's all day mod, and has already been replaced by a iStick 30w, so I'll have to use it to test it further. Which I really don't want to do, but maybe I will this weekend. Maybe I'll dust off the KFL+ while I'm at it.

Leather Skin finally came in...the contrast looks nice.

Picked one up today, wanted something to cook my RTAs on at work that had a passth...ability to charge while vaping. It won out over some other contenders at the B&M for it's non-clicky button (my Cloupor drives the girlfriend nuts). Thus far, me rikey. The MiniST looks sharp on it. I like that they went with allen head screws vs phillips, which would have been an eyesore. Super comfy little mod, especially coming from squared boxes.

As I was showing it off at the office, a guy wanted to see how his Derringer RDA looked on it. I learned that A) it looks sharp as an insult from Sherlock Holmes, and B) this configuration fits perfectly into double stack pistol magazine pouches. Namely a Bianchi molded nylon pouch, with the top flap closed and everything. Food for thought if you want to pair this with a dripper and take it on the go. Mine might end up paired with a HSG extended pistol taco for the taller tanks.
*Disclaimer: This poster is not responsible if you attempt to vape your G17 mags, or reload your Sig with 70 watts of vanilla custard. Practice tacticool vaping at your own risk.

One thing I'd really like to change is the battery compartment cap. Feels cheap, threads rough, and the serial number looks chintzy. Might have to commandeer a lathe and make a nicer knurled billet cap.

Using the iPV Mini 2 (or any mod for that matter) as a pass through is not a good idea. It's bad for the battery and the chip. If you're going to do that, I suggest you unplug the USB Mini connector, vape, then reconnect it afterwards.

If you make extra billet caps, I'll buy one.

Do you have any evidence for that statement? Or are you just speculating?

As crxess stated, "As long as you know the battery is not depleted you should be able to safely Vape." You cannot use it as a pass-through if the battery cannot provide the power. But I have not heard of any evidence that it is bad for the battery or the PV if you vape while charging as long as the battery can provide the power for the hit.

Do you ever use your laptop, tablet, or phone while it is charging?
