The pwm and dc dc confuses me terribly. I keep my mini on pwm because anytime I try dc dc it is immediately a burnt hit. Right now I have a .4 ohm coil, set in pwm at 20 watts and it's good. however if I do understand what I read in the previous post, since I am vaping 'high wattage' I should set it to dc dc?
or??? as said in the post directly abovem leave it in pwm and let the mod think for me?

So Cal
You ladies do know the PWM/DC-DC modes can be set auto right?
Setting to PWM covers voltages below Battery output and Auto switches to DC-DC when at/above Battery voltage. :D

PWM does auto by default?

I upgraded to the mini II 70W, so I don't have this concern (option) anymore.

I saw Chicago in my youth, (what feels like a lifetime ago) and loved them! A fantastic concert, great music!

Leave on PWM - .5 would default to 28watts+ in DC-DC with your coil

Yes, the Mini 30w Auto switches by default if set to PWM. DC-DC setting will NOT fall back.(auto switch)

So someone who vapes the mini 30W at lower wattages, would indeed want to "set and forget" to PWM. Someone in the "tweener" W/V area would be the only users with a real question, and those who only vape high W would never see the benefit of PWM. Am I on track there?

In a nut shell - Yep.:)

Mini 30w PWM opens the device up to people still using more basic tanks - Protank/Nautilus/ect. and gives them future proofing of sorts. Since I gave my wige a mini and Protank, I have filled that darn tank 5 times more often than her Vision spinner setup.
Her average Vape is 8w in PWM.

Just because I can not listen to PB or decipher pulse &*^&*%&* without a headache does not mean I do not know how to vape (LOL) (and build)

I know what some of you are saying, he can talk... but I'd be similar if I were on youtube... as I'm a talker too!

I appreciate PB's honesty and integrity in the majority of his reviews. He is well respected among the mature vaping community and may not be as popular or as hyper as riptripper, but he's got lotsa time in vaping and a well known vape spokesperson.

When you wake :) Yes you can leave your mini in DC-DC mode. You are averaging a 4.2v requirement for your preferred wattage so no Buck is required.(Buck=power reduction)

Phil and I had coffee together. A couple of cups, actually. Yes, I see that we can leave the mod in DC-DC mode when no Buck is necessary. My mind then raced to this question:

If/because PWM auto switches to DC-DC when at/above batt voltage, then I'm not sure I see "the" reason to even set it to DC-DC in the first place. Obviously, I'm missing the point as I continue to make steps to understand this. I hope these questions are helpful to others as well.

For anyone who is interested in these tidbits, PB does go into a little explanation at 23:48 in his video.

Exactly! THANK YOU, Darryl!!!

Now what's all this fuss I keep hearing about turning off AC/DC?

They're a fine band and I don't understand why anyone would want to turn them off. I'm sure that these Pwim folks are perfectly nice boys too, but why can't we just listen to them both? Nobody said we have to play them at the same time, so...

And this concludes the (ridiculously short) fun portion of my day. Have a nice Monday, all. Got snow?

You do realize you are supposed to Vape by Preference, not numbers on a screen right?
Tell me, How does Ohms law fit into a Regulated mod with unknown factors - like efficiency, Single digit .X ohm readings, Possible output reading of Actual or Required to achieve?

I find my Best Vape comes from setting to an output that delivers where I enjoy my Vape regardless of what is on screen.

Still have my Mini's - (2) 30w and a 70w as well as (2) Cloupor mini's - All vape slightly different at Same screen settings.

Riiiiight.

Tell that to everyone that is poo-pooing the Kanger Kbox for not having a screen.

I love both Rosanne Rosannadana and ACDC... my very first concert was ACDC in 77! The "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" tour! LOL!

Hard to not read that to a Rosanne voice!
