I think the true black looks pretty sharp. Congrats.
Thanks!!!

The new ipv Mini 70w black is actually black so I guess these using the same housing for the black 30w. Like I said I was kinda hoping for the gunmetal. But I will probably eventually wrap it anyway.

My cap is wonky too and I perceive problems down the line. Really do not want to charge the battery without removing it but is this what I will be faced with one day? Is that bad to do? I have always heard to not charge these flat top high drains in anythng other than my Nitecore. My screen does flash when putting battery in even though device is off but so foes my Vamo.
I have never heard that about charging. Why would these devices that recommend high drain batteries have USB charging ports if it wasn't advised to charge that way??

Alright, 143 pagers of great information and I'm still not sure I got this. But, if I don't place this order soon i,m going to end up spending my money on something responsible like paying the rent. Keep in mind,up until now my greatest acomplisment has been an mpv2 and nautilus. Just tell me if this sounds right.

30w ipv mini

Kayfun lite
Kanger sub tank

Two samsung 25r 18650 (someone please tell me exactly what battery)
Nitecore intelecharger

Wire and cotten for the kayfun
Case for batteries
Coil wrapping kit
Cheap ohm reader (I already own a multimeter)

Is all this with the mini going to be a good start.

Right behind you...
Don't really need the coil wrapping kit if you have a collection of smaller drill bits and/or precision screwdrivers, especially if you use the "tensioned micro coil" method which just plan works better with a screwdriver instead of a jig or one of those Coilmaster tube-style setups.

You can also skip the ohm reader and use the IPV to read resistance if you like. It's short protected, and you'll be putting it on it to dry burn and tweak your coils anyway before you wick them. Though the ohm reader does make for a good building base.

Ceramic tweezers are a nice but not required thing to have.

Looks good. I would opt for the tobeco kayfun 4 over any Kayfun lite clone or authentic, but maybe that is just me. For $20 its cheaper and better than my ehpro dual airhole kfl+, and my authentic kfl+.

Samsung 25Rs and nitecore d2/d4 are cheap-ish at illumn.com if you're still looking to order.

Ohm reader is rather optional for the builds you'll be doing in a kayfun. If you were using a mech and rda, and looking to subohm below .3ohm I would say its more necessary for safety, but for a kayfun, just use the ipv mini honestly.

Just got my IPV Mini today. Really like it. Not as much as my Vaporshark but it is is pretty solid for a Chinese mod. It does what I need it to do. Kinda bummed that P4Y has now went to a true black body on the 30w instead of the gunmetal that it used to be. I really liked the looks of the gunmetal color.

I wish mine had come in true black. the gun metal used to look cool, but there is a two square inch area where it has rubbed off almost completely, The black looks more durable.

Got my mini 2 today. Dimensions are exactly the same as the first one. Good thing I had an extra carbon fiber wrap laying around. One question tho, mine wont switch over to PWM or DC DC mode. I tried in on my version 1 and it works fine. Mobile won't switch over either. Not that I ever use it. Read the instructions and all the button functions seems like the manual was written for the V1.

No PWM but it does buck in DC, it just doesnt buck down very low but low enough for most people buying a 70w mod.

Yea.................... not really. That is why I also have the 30w. Would be less expensive to have one that could be used for my Dark Horse and the Protanks. :D
Thank goodness I have a few Orchid tanks:laugh:

Ordered a Subtank mini today for the IPV mini. (all those pics here of it on the mini just gets me hyped)

So far about a month with the mini and I have had no noticeable issues. Been frequently swapping around a T3S, Genitank, and a Monster Cloud v2, all different ohms. The T3S at 2.4 ohms always shows as 2.3 ohms on the mini, the Genitank (1.8 ohms) jumps around between 1.7 and 1.8 frequently enough to notice, and the Monster Cloud reliably shows it's tested ohms (currently 1.0 ohm build.) The difference in ohm readings don't really affect the experience though.

The mini does scratch pretty easily some keep that in mind (thin layer of paint on it.) My does have a few minor scratches on the side from the few times I put it in my pockets while out of the house. Otherwise I'm enjoying my mini.

Great start!!! A few things to consider possibly.

Give a Lemo a try instead of a KFL. Much better air flow, glass tank and bigger build deck.

Efest LUC charger instead of the Nitecore. My Nitecore died after 8 months. And the LUC charges each bay independently instead of splitting between all of the bays. If you weren't going to, get a 4 bay over a 2 bay. You will eventually have more batteries.

Fasttech has the Kuro Koiler coil building set for under $7 for the set of three. Better than the $20 a piece you pay here. They aren't really necessary, but if you are inexperienced it will help you get started.

Puff brand cotton pads on amazon. 200 for around $8. That will last a long time

Lightning Vapes website would be a great place to get the batteries, charger and kanthal. They have a coupon code LV15 for 15% off.

Does no one else use the Orchid Tanks? The new v4(cloned version) is excellent. Nice big air channels(2) and a big build deck. But the ince thing is it is under $15.

Big Vapor clouds and Big Flavor

Caution - I can empty a mini (v3.5) in about 15 minutes
Dual coil 4ohms
30 watts
:D

I'm watching the review of the I-stick 50Watt right now on Vaping Shozza and it looks pretty good... Here's the link if anyones interested.

Link missing.

Sorry, I wrote him off when he downed the IPV Mini so bad yet thought the Cloupor was practically perfect.
I like my mods to at least flush with my 22mm Tanks
I am also smart enough to NOT use Mobil mode with an Atomizer attached. Who charges atomizers anyway?

Well, To be fair, I too thought the Mobile charging issue would be more of an issue than it turned out to be. ...Just sayin"
