Hi, i'm new member here. currently using ipv V1 + aerotank mega.

i put 1.5 ohm dual coil in the tank. if i set my mod to 10W, it will smell like something burns. i have to put it to 7 - 7.5W.
But still sometimes the ohm display is not stable.. the range could be from 1.9 - 3 ohm sometimes even 4.1 ohm. it the ohm display shows more than 3 ohm. it will smell burn again.

any advice? already change the coil still the same result.

thanks

Check if the coil is turned tightly into place and the tank is properly tightened to the IPV. If so it sounds like a bad coil. Detecting 4.1 ohms the IPV will push a lot more volts to get to the desired Watts. This will certainly impact flavor.
In other words the fluctuating resistance is not good. Fix that first.

It might be the tanks base as well ... Sometimes the coils are not able to make a good connection with the IPV in this case. Try a different tank.

If it is not the coils or the tank, your IPV might have an issue. See if you can find something else that measures resistance.

Check this. I noticed this problem occasionally with several of the mega tanks i have. For some reason the center post on the bottom of the tank (not sure if its negative or positive, but lets say negative) sits dang near flush with the outer screw portion (the positive pole). In turn if you put it on too tight it pushes the center in the rest of the way and you get a bad reading, or if you barely screw it on, you get a fluctuating reading. What i have done is prior to putting the coil in, push that center post out slightly with a screwdriver from the top inside. Then put in your coil nice and tight. When putting it on your APV, snug it slightly, not tight, not loose.

I had that frequently....one of the reasons i quit the kanger mega tanks. The nautilus tanks (and especially with the BVC coils) in my opinion work much better. The center post on them sticks out nicely and you can put them on nice and snug without issues.

Take a look at that and see, it may be your problem.
