IPV3 upgrade headache

so just to contribute to the wealth of knowledge, I did the update today, I used the 18/12/14 upgrade file.

Install went perfectly, only issue I has was a random error code when I tried opening the file.... so I closed the program, reopened & it ran perfectly fine.

My memory works just like it used to; click the up button to toggle through the 5 memory settings & click the down button to adjust whatever memory setting I'm in.

I decided to try it also, upgrade went without a hitch. .......... Denny has not fixed the memories though, pity!

Oky doke .... Go here and download this first ... SXi upgrate_product upgrate_Download_Green Leaf Electronic Cigarette - ....... Install first.

Then here & download this .... ipv3 upgrate 165w 0.08ohm_Download_Green Leaf Electronic Cigarette - ..........

The first is the upgrade program and should be unpacked / installed. The second is the upgrade firmware software. you should rename adding .SXI on the end, so the program recognises it, navigate to that when asked to by the upgrade program. See below.

Run program, connect your IPV3. ( NB. REMOVE YOUR batteries BEFORE CONNECTING ) Once connected go to "Connect" then click "Install Drivers" You will get a pop up (mine popped up on the task bar, so look there if you don't see it) normally with the correct option shown, if unsure look at the down tab. (Mine had no other option listed)

Mine shows "install win7/win8" or something like that. Click that and it will install the appropriate driver.

Hit the SXI logo to return to menu.

Hit "Upgrade" then hit "Open file" navigate to the firmware you renamed to end in .SXI, click that & OK/done

It'll show the file you opened on the prog.

Hit "upgrade" on that screen.

It will then install the upgrade. Note the progress bar because it doesn't say "done or finished," it just runs to 100% then goes away. Eject your device, unplug, install batteries and your done.

These look like very recent upgrade files, 18/12/2014 ......... So Denny may have fixed the memory issue! .... It would be nice.

Any probs, shout up.

Styks,

I want to first say Thanks for your help..
So far I was able to download the SXi upgrade program and have installed that without problems..
where I end up getting stumped on (the second link you posted) is the firmware.. when I navigate to it ( and click on it... a window opens up with what looks like lines of code or something ?? Unfortunately that's the outcome when I click the firmware link "images/upload/File/ipv3-upgrate-165w-0.08ohm" on the pioneer sight ??
not sure why it doesn't prompt me to save or run the file but instead just opens to a new page with the lines of code I previously mentioned..
If I right click the link I can have an option to "save target as" and if I choose that a pop up window prompts me to save it as an HTML file (.htm) with the name "ipv3-upgrate-165w-0.htm"

Should I save it ?? if so what is the name I should give it ?? and if I add the .SXI to the end where to I place the ".SXI" in the file name ?? (before or after the (.htm)
Aghhh !! I wish I was more computer Literate (I actually thought I was LoL !!)..
Anyways if you could help me with this last piece I think I can finish the rest of the procedure.. I am just having trouble understanding the notion of an (.htm) file and how it fits into this whole upgrade ??
honestly if I am supposed to right click the file and "save target as" I'd appreciate you giving me the exact name so I could just paste it in..
Not sure why I don't get prompted immediately after a normal "left" click on that firmware link but that's not as important as figuring this out and getting it done..
I am truly sorry for the trouble and A big thanks an advance as well...

No trouble at all my friend.
If I go to the link, put my curser over the file it turns red, left click and the normal open or save option pops up.
So I would think it's something to do with your browser tbh. If I right click and open link in new tab the open / save option opens in a new tab. Just the way my browser works.
Save target should work if I remember correctly but haven't used that for ages, if you have HTML on the end I think it's only saved the web page.

I tell you what I can do to help you out if you can't download, just PM me and we'll exchange direct email adds. I'll mail you the file as an attachment,(it's only small) renamed ready for you / the program to use. I'm happy to help.

Let me know how you get on.

Styks Thanks and you're correct for some reason when I put the curser over the file and left click it does only open to an html page and if I save target as and put in the .SXI the file I get is just an html page with the name "ipv3-upgrate-165w-0.SXI.htm"
I will PM you and if you could send it to me I would so VERY appreciate that my friend...

I have my IPV3 and I know it can be a pain but when I swap batterys and restart my device the first thing I do is run through and adjust my 5 memory settings to what i use when I swap Toppers, m1-3 are lower wattage for my RTA and 4-5 are higher for my dripper. I would always suggest running through and lowering all the memory settings when you swap batteries that way you do not have to worry about accidentally pushing 150w through your Clearo. Personally I think P4U should not have preset any of the memory settings to over 50W because of the chance of someone firing off 150W into their mouths accidentally but hey that is a risk we took buying a high wattage device.
IPV has no independent VW all in the mem settings, mine works exactly how you described and I knew this when purchasing. Just run though and set 5 different low wattages for you Nautilus and vape on!

Yes I agree for safety may be the defaults should be lower, but of course it's down to the buyer to ensure the correct wattage is set.

It didn't stop me buying another IPV ;) so I was not that annoyed! ........... The IPV2S functions well and as it should memory wise, plus the memories stay as programmed when you swap batteries. How long it would hold the settings I don't know but I swap straight away anyhow.

Now that I've spent some time with the IPV3.. I really am digging it..
The only thing that's got me a bit concerned is that it seems the ohm reader is off about .06 - .08 ohms.. Checked it with the meter, fluke, and a provari.. Although it's not that significant I was more interested in if this is an isolated incidence or the nature or the device ??
Any thoughts or first hand accounts that could help ease my mind on this ???

Best Regards,
