"They are hoping to have the silver ones shipped by the end of this week. The reason why P4U is delaying the ship date on the mods is because they want to ensure all features including the temp control works properly before they ship them out. It would be really bad if they rushed just to get the mods shipped out early and then the temp control feature has a bunch of issues"

how is this any different from any company's release of a new product? are there some that release stuff and say"hope this stuff works?" sounds like they are having some glitches reaching a certain date for the release but i doubt they are doing anything different than what they (or any other co.) have done before. sounds noble to say they are making sure each one works before they ship them out but isn't that their job on the production line anyway? i am frustrated too but the fault lies in this whole "pre-order" system -while not unheard of elsewhere it is an epidemic in the vaping world. probably because a bunch of small "mom and pop" vendors lack the $$ to expend up front to order a large shipment from another small company that needs the money to complete the manufacturing of their "latest and greatest" product. so everyone shells out $$$ when a solid release date is just a wish. it would be nice if they waited until the companies actually shipped the product before setting up sales. probably the reason there are so many quick revisions of the product with v2, v3 and so on. under pressure to release product when they already have the $$ for that product. why not get the product done right, ship it to vendors and then put up a "for sale" sign? the release date will change little(if at all) and you wouldn't have a lot of frustrated customers. on one site their are over 10 reviews for a product that hasn't even been released yet from customers absolutely crazy they don't have their new toy in their hands already.while it is funny to watch it is also a litle sad and pathetic. seems in vaping you have exchanged one addiction for two- with vaping and smoking you both need nicotine but vaping adds the new addiction of intense waiting and you can take forever reading all the posts about it......

I hear what you're saying. And I'm far from the angriest person on here, more like disappointed. But here's the thing you have to remember: it's not just the vendors fault for starting up preorders. Companies shouldn't release information and a release date until it's a solid thing. For example - Apple. Apple doesn't release random info about a product that hasn't gone thru testing. I mean, literally, they announce their products when the finalized product is in mass production. They don't announce it until they know what it is, how it'll work and what'll be included.

For P4Y to announce this thing, set a release date, and then delay it 4 months - that's not professional. And not just that, have it go thru changes and not tell anyone until the last minute. Some people preordered this (me included) when it was just a top of the line 100w device, not a TC device. I'm not going to complain, I'll take it, but that's not what it was supposed to be. Hell, every other picture shows it as a different color. To the point P4Y doesn't even know what the black one is going to look like yet! And to top it off, as of 4/13, they hadn't even had the boxes to build the devices yet! Yet it was supposed to be released at the end of March. That's a bit disconcerting.

Again, I hear where you're coming from and I too am glad they're fully testing these things, but I think everybody may be on edge about it because of P4Y's track record. Nobody likes being lied to or jerked around, but P4Y is more than capable of this based on their past: not being upfront with releases date info, not including things in the box (wall chargers) that they promised, making us pay for equipment and features we don't get to use (touch sensors) and now we don't even have a clue as to what the device that was supposed to be out last month will even look like (colors). Hell, I still don't recall seeing an actual picture of one yet, just computer renders of what it'll supposedly look like. Delays are fine, but at least show us a teaser video or a few pictures of what it'll look like, to smooth things over with their customers. Even an apology post on Facebook would've been nice.

it would all just be amusing except they have our $$. so i blame....us don't get into a pre-order. it is not like these are custom builds- everyone who wants one will be able to buy one. unless you have to be the first one on your block to have one why not wait until they are released and just order one?. name any mod put out by any company (again, not a custom or one-man operation) that you can't get easily. they all are ready to sell and most have been discounted. we need to not be trained seals and relax. funny thing is most folks who are waiting on the ipv4 have other mods to vape while all this waiting is going on. very few, if any, are waiting on the ipv4 as their only mod- i bet most folks have a lot of different ways to vape. so what exactly is the uproar over unless it is some underlying addiction....to buying....

Personally I'm glad I got my pre-order in. Most sites have been forced to up the price. I got in at $62 and change, shipped.

Wow. That is a good price. I got in only because I returned a defective Smok XPro M80 from what I thought was a good deal on that pre-order and could only get an in-store credit rather than a refund. The pre-order deal on the IPV4 wasn't so good through them, but it was the next best option for me.

I'm a network administrator for a living, and also a video gamer. Product delays are the norm in my world.

Intel is a year late on delivering their Skylake architecture. I just got GTV V on the PC after more than 6 months in delays. Waiting for Nvidia to release their Pascal chipset next winter which should have been out now. Surely Intel, Nvidia, and Rockstar are professional companies.

It's an electronics product. Delays are not unusual. And I would rather have 4 months of delays and have added features and proper testing than be one of the iStick 50W owners who is on their third iStick because they keep auto-firing.

Let's just hope this doesn't turn out to be another Daikatana.
