IPV4 vs IPV3 Li

Hey guys,

Which of these would you choose? I like the design of the ipv4 more, but the IVP3 Li has higher wattage and has an upgrade to even higher wattage. Both are temp. control. They both use Yihi chipsets, but the IPV3 Li uses the SX330-V3Si while the ipv4 uses the SX330-V4. Does one chipset have an advantage over the other? For those of you who have or have had a good amount of usage with both, please let me know what you think is the better mod.

I have an Ipv4 and I find the temp control doesn't work very well, it's entirely possible that my builds are responsible for that however.

I'd be willing to bet that would be the case as the Temp Control on the iPV4 works immaculately.

Using a TC MOD really anything past about 60 watts or so in my opinion is just a waste. But then again that's just my opinion.

I have been using the iPV4 for two weeks now and it blow the socks off of the first TC MOD I bought which is the Kangxin Vapor Flask V3 40 watt MOD.
I vape the iPV4 at about 20-23 Joules with 0.08 - 0.10 ohm coils at 3.5mm ID coil size 26ga. ni200 and have a very good vape experience.

Agreed. I'm at 20 joules, 30 gauge tempered at 3mm. 8 wraps for a .18 coil at 410 degrees.

Thought so at first but disagree. We just started temp control. Once people start making exotic dual coils the wattage will be more than needed.

To be honest I don't believe there will be a need for "exotic" dual coils. That whole scene was just a brief blip on the RDA & RTA coil building scene.

A LOT of it was because of Rip Trippers coming out every other day with some new fangled coil setup. Nickel wire is just too soft at the 28-30 gauge range
even with the fancy tempered nickel wire which costs twice as much as annealed nickel wire.

That may be true, but look at how far tanks have come. Smok is releasing a tri-coil tank soon. People will snatch those up in droves and more wattage will be needed to get stuff like that up to temp.

I respect that, but since I build my own coils it's way more economic versus $4-5 or more for pre-made coil heads.
For basically the price of two-three factory made nickel coil heads I can get a 100' roll of 26ga. Ni200 wire and make about 200 or so coils.

This is true, but the mainstream isn't building their own vape. They're buying coils.

A regular old dual coil on my ipv4 vapes better than any twisted or tiger or Clapton kanthal build I've tried.

Easy peasy and perfect vape.

Granted I do see if you like working with lower gauge nickel or nickel and kanthal hybrids why claptons might stick around-- they'd allow for less wraps without an ultra low resistance. But imo that's way too much hassle when a normal coil works so well and I couldn't imagine trying to wrap that.

I use the IPV3 Li extremely happy with it so far. I run it with a troll RDA with .26 resistance coils on about 80 watts and it works like a dream.

I just got the IPV4 yesterday. It's my first regulated mod, but I'm sold! I hear there will be a firmware update soon to get higher wattage out of it but can't imagine needing it. I quit using claptons because my mech didn't have the cojones to fire them, but this thing @ 100W is almost too much for them. I'm getting some Nickel wire this weekend to try out the temp control, but I hear nothing but good things about it. If you really think you need 165W, go for the 3 Li. But the 4 is less expensive and I think it looks better. Just my .

I love my ipv4.

Firmware update soon for 120w, titanium mode, up to 100 joules in titanium mode.

I polished off the mirror finish and added insulation around the charge board, both took a few minutes and were a non issue to me, but if you'd rather not deal with that wait for the 4s.

I also have a 3 on the way, it'll be my stay at home.

The 4 is slightly more ergonomic and easier to hold, probably q but better in the pocket. The 3 has a more solid construction.

Other than that 80 watts in VW mode is only difference after update

Personally, I prefer the form factor of the IPV4, it fits perfectly in my hand. With update coming out, 120w and Ti mode will be added.
