IPV5: I bought one and have not really used it only because I have really zeroed into the YIHI chips and certain DNA 200 Mods however, I obviously tried it in all modes and various tanks and battery's b/c if anything wasn't working correctly I could and would have returned it. But in trying the Mod which not sits in its box (which is a shame) it was really smooth kind of like the IPV4s or Segelie 150 TC Mod but on steroids. Also in making sure that the SS function worked properly the TCR can be changed and as I am sure you know some tanks and their coils need higher TCR #'s and I thought the IPV5 was simple to use and to customize it your tank and coil to how hard you want the Mod to hit. Also being able to go over 50 Joules is a huge plus and when the SX-Pure is fully out it also has that as an option. One thing I have heard from KMG who fixes the IPVs and is a whole saler that they will be doing an update for SS as some Mods you have to adjust them considerably higher then what is recommended so I know that is a fix that will be coming if someone has an issue in SS, just move up the TCR until it fires properly and makes that nice sizzel sound

Got my 5 in about an hour ago. So apparently it has a wattage cutoff if the resistance is below a certain level. I am running my Boreas in power mode at .23 and it won't let me set it above 120w. So I have a Bellus that I have a .5 build in and when I put that on, it allowed the wattage to go to 200w. Now, the highest I vape is 65-70 and I never shoot for a target resistance so it really doesn't matter in the long run. Must be a safety feature.

Seems like the mod has a 23 amp cutoff. That's 23 amps at the atty though, not the batteries. Either it's to protect the circuitry/wiring or p4u don't understand how amp draw on a regulated mod works (unlikely).

Being new to the Yihi chip, I'm trying to figure out whether I have a defective unit or if this is just normal behavior for Yihi.

1. after you had being using a tank on TC mode, once you unscrew it and then reattach it, you get a "Dry coil warning" and have wait until the atomizer has cooled down to nominal levels for it to work again.

2. The memory function only memorizes joules/wattage per preset and does not remember type of coil, temp or anything else for that matter which makes switching tanks of different coils is a real pain the .....

3. Battery level is deceiving. It's out of battery at the 1/4 mark.

Has anyone found a solution to what I hope doesn't affect just me?

My ipv5 will sometimes stay stuck in a pre set. I cannot adjust the wattage in power mode. I have tried removing batteries, turning off unit, switching to tc mode and back to power. I can't seem to find the solution that works 100 percent to have adjustment buttons functional again. It's random when they stop working, and random when they decide to work again

I have not experienced any of your problems, I would suspect a bad chip. Hope it's still under warranty.

Just recieved my IPV5, and it won't fire anything in TC mode. It reads every atty at .05 ohms and gives me a 'dry coil or no liquid' error. I'm so disappointed. It looks like P4U let a bad unit leave the factory.. go figure.

Have you set the resistance by holding the + and - together and once it reads resistance hit the fire button? That is how it locks in/sets the resistance in Joul mode.

I have this same problem and google searches show that I'm not alone. Don't think there's any fix to it, I just keep clicking the buttons till they start working again. Thinking of upgrading to a Sigelei 213w because of the bugs and the weight of the IPV5.

I had an Eureka moment and figured I would add it here for those also being affected.

So my ipv5 would sometimes be unresponsive with changing the wattage when in use. It would still fire, but I could not change the power at all. So after trial and error, I found a way to get the buttons working again.
When the problem arises,

-Press the fire button once, quickly
-Press the mode UP button once (like you were going to cycle through the m1-m5)
-Press the power down button once. You should see the power drop by the .1 increment. You are now free to continue adjusting power to where you want it.

This has worked for me 100% of the time when the problem came up. I dont know why it happens, but thats been my solution. Prime, let me know if this also works for you.
