i take great care with my Mods and never get them wet or keep them in my pocket.

Tonight I was watching a movie with the wife and I heard a sizzling noise.

Looked over and just saw my IPV5 smoking.

I looked over and noticed it had fired by itself.

So I took the batteries out and waited a while.

Put a new set in, hit it a few times and it was ok.

Get in bed and notice a light, almost like I had a text message or something on my phone, only to see the mod cycling through the menus all by itself.

Right afterwards it starting firing own its own again.

Immediately took the batteries out and now I don't think I'll use this Mod again.

I have two of them and I have never had an issue with any of my Mods and have only had this one for about two months.

Does this sound like a circuit board issue or what?

I don't even know the warranty on these things and the one time I contacted the warranty office with a different IPV5, I never heard a single word from them. Luckily the company I bought it from took it back.

What should I do with this one?

Sounds like a glitchy board. There are 3 or 4 US Service Centers for these devices that should be listed on the warranty card that came with your device. They should be able to replace the board for you. Device is under warranty for 3 months. I haven't had any problems with mine but will keep an eye on them. Are you using an external charger? I have heard of the IPV3 having this glitch when charged through the USB port. USB charging is supposed to be disabled in the 5 though.
