I look at this exactly like i looked at the ipv 4 , great chip but that is all . What happened to the rugged durability of the ipv 35 watt , ipv 50 watt , iPV Mini , iPV2X 60 watt , iPV2S 60 watt and iPV III and iPV III LI ?
I am not a fan at all of P4U's mediocre at best build quality on these newer iPV's they are producing these days . When P4U released the iPV 4 they became super affordable faster than any other iPV had in the past and for good reason.
The sub par at best build quality on these new ones are a huge disappointment to me , the previous iPV's are still selling for high prices because they were built like a rock and had great chipset's .
I still have some of the older ones with solid aluminum enclosures and they are rock solid and have been beat on and dropped on concrete more times than you can count
The new iPV 5 looks even cheaper than the iPV 4 and this new one is selling for less $$ than any previous iPV by far , not at all impressed .

Have you used it? I mean its hard to diss something if you haven't even used it.
I've had all kinds of mods including all the IPV models. Yes they are the lest expensive 200watt mod I know of, but coupled with a good Velocity RDA and quad Claptop coils, is a beast. (almost) All the reviews I've seen are good. I can't really fault it, especially at under $50.00.
I won't compare it's build quality over some of the obscenely priced mods I have, and why would I? I needed a throw-around mod for work...and the IPV5 is working great for that.

Don't know about that. The RX200 for under $40 is a good mod, and now does 250W.
Yeah! I read about that the other day. I've looked at that too, but the width turns me off a little bit, using 3 18650 batts is a great idea though, depending on power needs, the batts should last a few days I think?
I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out next...
Ipv5 is a brilliant mod, looks and feels great and the chip works like a yihi chip should

Im not following you, its a metal enclosure its as solid as it needs to be.But, you cant please everybody. The IPv3li is as solid as it gets, but people wanted something that fits better in the hand.
The IPv5 again is a metal enclosure 200 watts with tcr,what more do you want for 50 bucks?
18 months ago I paid 40 something for the 11 watt mvp2 and I was happy as could be.we've come a long way baby

I love my li it was and still is a top mod but it's not very friendly in your hand I use it for home use only now

My only two gripes are...
it's heavy, but solid
It's a fingerprint magnet from hell. I am planning on getting a silicone cover for it.
Mine had the 75watt flaw, but was really easily fixed.
It has plenty of power so running a .15 quad clapton Velocity fires up fast!

Really don't understand why this mod isn't getting more attention... Just got mine yesterday from Sweet-Vapes with a Silicone Case, and it's rocking my Black 22mm Griffin with top air flow. Ordered another one today from Eciggity and another Case from Sweet-Vapes (read vape budget blown, again)....
Got mine today from MFS -- best $36 I've spent. Very solid, zero rattles, only con so far has been the glossy finish on the case. Fingerprinty (although not too bad since I got it in white) and too slippy for my clumsy hands. Spent a whopping $1.30 for a silicone sleeve on FT which should solve that when it arrives in a few weeks (or months -- can never tell with FT).
Been using an IPV4S for a while and have been 100% satisfied with the performance. Lots of nice new features on the ipv5 to keep me happy (well, for a while).

@Jason Lewis........I posted the same thing in another thread the IPV5 doesnt get the attention because Pioneer4U ...... off a LOT of people and a lot wont even consider a P4U mod now
Understandable, I too was on the fence, but for the price it seems hard to beat at this point. IPV may have finally learned from there mistakes.... I will say it's much more stable in TC mode with my dual fused ss claptons than my Cuboid ever was (510 connector was junk from the start). Time will tell, but so far this is the best vape I've had with TC.
I have been kicking the ol peanut around trying to figure out my next mod purchase.
So far, im heavily leaning towards the ipv5 amongst my options.
I loved my D2. It was very accurate. Just sucked it was only 1 battery.
And everyone seems sold out of the blue ipv5 at a cheap price. Otherwise I gotta pony up $60
