I like the essence of this thread. I get frustrated sometimes reading the forums, especially the more 'luxurious' threads. Should I get 100ml Boba's, or should I leave some for you guys? Should I get a provari, or an electric angel? Maybe you should join CASAA and start harassing your reps. All of this propaganda on the news lately has been increasing exponentially, and its a tell tale sign that the orders to demonize are flooding in from above. I strongly believe that the FDA's next move, which they claim is happening this month, will be an attempt at crippling our vaping rights by limiting selection, banning flavors, classifying as tobacco product, etc. Yet we discuss which mod to pick up next or how to do lung inhales.

In short, were all on the same side. Let's not step on each other's toes now that were all huddled under the same umbrella.

Just remember, "the news" (any given news media/news forum/news outlet) is a business, like any other business. It requires viewing in order to make money, because no one will pay for an ad that isn't going to be viewed if the news piece isn't viewed. Without sensationalizing things, actual news would generally be much too boring for people to tune in to.

I mean I have actually heard "news" teasers to the tune of "Exercise...could it actually be bad for your weight loss efforts?" (insert_ominous_voice) So...come on. :p

I just found it amusing one who would bash Fox News viewers for being uninformed more than likely support a party who would take away their e-cig, but they, themselves are not informed enough to know it.

The funny thing is that the original post has nothing to do with Fox News, as far as I can tell. The OP discusses a news story on a local Fox affiliate, which is equivalent to just about any other local news operation in the United States. The Fox TV network just happens to pay the bills.

So all week Fox 43 news has been running an ad for an upcoming story. "E-cigarettes: safer than smoking, or hidden dangers?" in an ominous voice :glare:
Everytime it comes on my wife says "see? You gotta watch it. Could be dangerous!" Then I say "You want me to start smoking again?" Shuts her up. ;)

I would hope it would shut her up... Most any thing is better than starting smoking again!

Expect the worst
Faux news

Lets ask Google
"cnn news lying" = 3.3 Million results
"cbs news lying" = 4.5 Million results
"nbc news lying" = 7.5 Million results
"fox news lying" = 45.8 Million results

"Fox News viewers were the least informed. In fact, FDU poll results showed they were even less informed than those who say they don’t watch any news at all."
source: Fox News Viewers Uninformed, NPR Listeners Not, Poll Suggests - Forbes

IS fox lying yes but understand the others are as well they just don't get the news showing it as much
I remember one time cbs nbc cnbc and msnc all ran over and over again the back of a man with a gun strapped to his back
in a story about how angry white man at tea party had a gun

well couple days later the full video proved the man was black

the only purpose for me even using this story understand is to illustrate they are all doing it
and anything any one of them say need to be researched

there are many other examples but this is the easiest to explain that comes to mind

well it obvious the results are skewered against fox news for all the obvious reasons.
conservatives don't spend there time loading results in dubious polls.

E-cigs have to be classified as a tobacco product, if they aren't they'll be classified as a drug. You do not want e-cigs classified as a drug or you'll have shops shutting down left and right. Right now as the FDA laws stand e-cigs must fall in one of two categories, a tobacco product or a drug. If we are misfortunate enough to have it classified as a drug every small vendor that sells juice or even hardware is going to shut down. The permits and lab requirements for drug making labs (think big pharma, not Colombian cartel) are immensely expensive ranging in the millions of dollars.

Now just because you're being labelled as a tobacco product doesn't mean you have to be subject to the same tax laws or even in the same law subset as traditional tobacco, that's where the grey area is at the moment and that's what's taking the FDA so long to figure out.

It's actually wavy 10 which is nbc. They own the fox station here too so they advert between the two. The news is on now and the story is supposed to be on shortly. I'll let ya know how it goes. One thing concerned me, I heard one of the local vape shops owners is on. Rumor has always been that this shop buys juice from china and slaps their sticker on it. I do not know if that's true or not, just gossip I hear from fellow vaporers.

Ok. So the big deal they were talking about was the flavored (ie bubble gum, cotton candy) juice. They say it could entice kids to smoke. The local vape shop owner made the argument of all the flavored alcohol. (I liked that point) then the reporter said she sat down with a "lung" doctor to find out if it's safer than real cigarettes...results at the 6pm newscast. Lol.
They did say FDA proposal will be released this month......

Precisely my worry. I've read/watched interviews regarding government officials in which this was what they seemed to be attacking the most, since it makes sense on a passive uninformed level. I imagine it would be a pretty annoying blow to the sales side of things if all of the vendors suddenly couldn't sell the flavored juice they've been working so hard to perfect, and it is entirely possible that they would target things like mg strength, sub-ohm dangers, etc. soon after the flavors get 'regulated' (banned).

It makes sense from a political point of view. If they deem ecigs to be tobacco products, then inevitably the flavors will get targeted, as in the past, flavored cigarettes were banned for this same reason. I'm a DIY vaper and this concerns me greatly because I had actually considered opening up an ejuice shop online. After hearing about this up coming regulation last month or so, I've had to put all those plans on hold. It strikes me as painful that most juice vendors are in a much worse position then myself, given that they've already invested alot of money and time to get themselves up off their feet, only to have the essence of their business (their recipes) banned.
