Tripple digits half way to home
I just read this post and it really hit home with me. I'm starting a new job with a vapor shop tomorrow. There was a Mother and son in the shop. I was very politely asked to help with "ANYONE WE'RE COVERED UP". So I picked a young man. (omg it's strange everyone looks like a 12 year old at me age". I got the first young man taken care of and then went to the lady and her son. This kid is proubably of the legal age, (since mom told me a few stories about him), and said that SHE wanted him to get a PV with some 0 nic juice. I asked why 0 nic and MOM told me that he was smoking behind her back. (Mom is a vapor). OMG. He's doing it under peer pressure. I took the kid to the side and excused myself from mom. Had a long chat with him about smoking and only quoted my own person experience with it and what it's cause. The trips to the ER, the bills from the Hospital etc. Ok if your gonna do it then it's better than smoking. Like was already said, even the air we breath is not safe anymore. I explained that the PG and also the VG were something that I use for medication and also we eat everyday. He didn't have enough money to get everything so I gave him my 10% discount card.
No I didn't bother to mention that even the prescribed medications I use have some major and severe side affects with them. Sorry I really didn't know what to do. If he's gonna smoke something I'd rather see him vape. Besides his friends will be jealous cause of the flavors he can have and they can't. (Truth is I just wanted to take him outside and beat the crap out of him for even thinking the cool smoking thing.). Marlboro Man is DEAD and Joe Cool from Camel is a hump. :2c:

If something feels bad, don't use it.

No clue on quick-fix stress relievers. I do vape, am big on exercise. There are some little hand squeeze balls, filled with gel pellets, StressBall or SpiritBall are the ones I got at a local dollar store. Walking is available to many of us, even 10 - 15 minutes early in the day, or at lunch, can help a lot.

Good luck!

Very well said..........

Not to quibble and it's your life, you'll do what you want with it, but you say you've ruled out exercise as a stress reliever because you don't have the time or money . . . vaping costs more than exercise (unless of course you are talking about buying expensive gym equipment, but walking or doing yoga at home doesn't cost a cent) and vaping takes up time. Even if you only vape for five minutes every hour, that's five minutes you could be meditating or doing stretches or whatever. I'm just saying that if you choose not to use exercise because of money and time constraints, vaping isn't for you because it will cost you money and take up time.

I mean more so taking out hours each day to go the gym and paying for it each time. Travel costs + membership cost quite a bit but vaping is a one off cost for the kit then I'd just buy the juice. Also I could do it while working which would be the plus side.
But I'll probably try and do some quick free exercising and other things before I consider vaping again (refer to my last post.)

If you think about it...every single ingredient in the e-juice from a REPUTABLE maker has been FDA approved. This is not taking into account the "mom and pop" places where you don't really know what they are using and what conditions the juice is made under. The only things in e-juice that are supposed to be there (but may not be, depending on the recipe) is pharmaceutical proplylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin, nicotine, food grade flavor concentrates, possibly water and/or pure grain alcohol. That's it. Taken separately each one HAS been approved by the FDA. And the act of heating/vaporizing these substances reduces the potency significantly. Just sayin'.

If you are REALLY concerned what you are inhaling when you vape...learn to DIY. That way you can control everything that goes into your juice and be assured there are no unwanted additives or foreign matter!

Wish that we would quit using the "FDA APPROVED" as part of our reasons' that vaping is better. Seems like there is a lot of stuff out there that is 'fda approved' that is killing/harming a lot of people. I use to use a 'fda approved' drug for my type2 diabetes. Quit it when the my health problems got so bad I quit my job and retired early. Now have a lot less money for things, the conditions that the drug caused went away shortly after I stopped taking it - the drug started appearing in those tv-lawer adds. 'FORGET the FDA APPROVED' for vaping, I would like reading the success of users over ' FDA APPROVED'

+1 ond "FDA APPROVED" the FDA approves stuff all the time that is not safe, not to say they havent approved stuff that is safe. When you know someone that has taken a perscription that has killed them, latter to find out that the drug was not safe and the FDA pulls its stamp. There are 18 and 19 year old girls having storkes do to side effects from birth contorl that as of yet are still FDA approved probably not for much longer tho.

I won't offer any scientific info as others have that covered, but I personally find this activity very psychologically addictive. I find myself compulsively chain-vaping for hours and in terms of "total amount of time I have a cig/e-cig in my mouth," the time has gone UP since I quit smoking cigarettes. With cigarettes, I was limited to certain places and times I could light up, but now that I can vape indoors it's almost nonstop! I feel panicky when I can't locate my batteries and I bring an e-cig to bed with me every night.

I know plenty of non-smokers who occasionally smoke hookah for the sweet flavors and relaxing sensation, so I wouldn't say it's the end of the world if you start vaping, but to a smoker in the process of quitting, it seems a little backwards is all.

I have been smoking on and off for the last 11 years more off than on even tho I had removed the nicotine addiction/cravings several times I always came back cause I just enjoyed it. I always had a hand to mouth and oral fixation, needed to be chewing gum or drinking/snacking or just moving my tongue lol. You can do some push ups and sit ups in the morning or evening if you don't want to join a gym. Listen relaxing to music and focusing on positive or happy thoughts, playing video games has always helped me as well. At the end of the day if you want to do something your going to do it. While a lot of people see it as going backwards and wish they never started smoking peroid they still did for many years and different reasons. If you want to smoke something vaping is your best option and while it is good and will save you money that you decided not to start vaping. If you ever desire to smoke anything there are many options and people that can give you advice on the right set up for you. Good luck on reducing your stress level it can be toxic as well.
