Is anyone else tire of arguing with friends about the "dangers" of vaping?

My friends are all fascinated - and appreciate the lack of cigarette smell that usually accompanies me everywhere.

Just keep on doing what you are doing. There are those that wish to put a stop to it. I haven't been able to breathe like this since I ran track at 18 (I'm 31). tobacco is the only real satisfying alternative, that's what they don't understand. The throat hit has to be there, and the nicotine to be satisfying (for me). Patches and gum don't do that. Chantex made my sister f-ing nuts. vaping is amazing. And they don't care. I'll never put my body through the torture of cigarette addiction again, but I've seen that many people will. How sad! If this administration cares anything about the health of the country, step the f--k in!

oh man, can'o'worms here. When someone quits drinking, they are called a "dry drunk" are they not? Like a .... hole when a drunk and still a .... hole when sober?
Anyway, are people not maybe irritable when they quit smoking? I think, but not sure, but I think I might be a bit snappy lately. It could very well be because of all the crap going on in my life right now tho. But, wow, the formaldehyde comments, and that was coming from a so called high up educated person. Idiot. And my best friend, her daughter told her to take her vape outside !!!!.....yet... the daughter was smoking analogs in the house? ! ! ! I am so glad I wasn't there because I think I'm afraid of snapping on someone. And, this is my best friend, and I do love her daughters. But , whew, dodged that one because I turned down the offer to join them on this particular outing. Good thing, but, I told my bestie to tell her daughter than when she can read on something more than a 2nd grade level than she can speak to me about vaping.
Funny thing is, my own mother, who didn't want to see me die from analogs, who already lost 2 children, plus I had a stroke and was in the hospital not being able to breathe; but, my mother said, "hey Barb, when you smoked analogs, you went in the garage, smoked, and then came back in and it was done and over till the next garage visit. But with this vaping thing, you are sucking it all the time"
Rut roh - she is right. I explained the simplicity of the ingredients, the lack of clear and present danger, the nicotine factor compared to the gallon of caffeine/coffee we were drinking, and the splendid succulent flavors I was practically nursing. She understood as did my dad. But ya - me thinks my fuse is a tad short lately. You can try to educate, but there are some who are simply not capable of learning and reading as a hobby for them, is out of the question also.
Right - now my blood feels like it's boiling a bit ~Barbara~ lol
PS . . .You can also hand them some seeds and say "here, take these and grow a brain" . . . .

Because the media operates on behalf of the corporations, medical, pharmaceutical, insurance, and tobacco, who all want you to quit vaping and go back to smoking because they want to make money on your smoking, cancer, emphysema and early demise. They have already lost sales and taxes on over a billion packs of smokes, as well as all the patches and pills, and they are not liking that, hence the intense political agenda against vaping in the media.

I play in a band and there seems to be this incredible focus on beer and alcohol. For all but our singer, who is a recovering alcoholic, it is what beer the place has, what beers they are drinking and how many beers they can drink while we are playing... all ending with a "hey... I'm gonna stick around and drink a beer!" at 2am after tearing all our crap down. Throughout the gig, they are constantly 'showing off' their ability to drink while playing. I've seen them literally jump off the stage to grab a waitress to get them another beer and we've started our sets late because someone was trying to get a beer. While tearing down, we have to navigate bottles and glasses left on stage and have had countless same bottles and glasses spill and coat our cords and equipment with sticky stinking liquid.
The amount of money they spend on alcohol is incredible. I refuse to be on a tab or if I cannot avoid it, I don't eat or drink anything that could possibly be put ON the tab since there is this idiotic alcoholic belief that a tab can only be split by the number of people on it, regardless of what they had. Fortunately, cokes and water is free.
Of course, because I don't drink... by choice... I am treated as if I am somehow less than a man and ridiculed because of it. Should I make mention of the whole drinking and driving thing, I have a chorus of whines from them that I am an idiot and they are 'fine'
Of course, when I was smoking, had I said "I'm gonna stick around and have one more smoke", they would have ridiculed me, crabbed about it, said "no way" and left me sitting there by myself.
Perhaps the proper response to them would be "I'll quit vaping when you quit drinking"... but we all know what kind of response THAT would get from those hypocrites... don't we?

Well, can't hear real well unless spoken to clearly, so I usually give the standard response to all things droll, nonsensical, and ignorant/dumb, of "hmm? Really? You don't say! Chuckle, chuckle. You'd be surprised how many stupid questions asked will be satisfied by those words, and then they will shut up and leave me alone.
I try so very hard to put my ear buds in and crank up the tunes, activate my book quickly and get my vape on, when taking a break at work, so that people won't cut into my reading, coffee and Vape Break. Fraking hate it when that happens. Only get a 20 minute vape break every hour that I work, so try to spend the time doing 3 things that I love and makes life more bearable. lmao.
Had to laugh though today, a bud I've known for over 10 years there, decided after seeing my gear and the vape I enjoy, asked me how my battery could possibly handle the 0.2 ohm build Rose2 was sporting. Apparently, in his enthusiasm to achieve the quality of vape I have achieved, he went and purchased some mods &* rba's, the proceeded to vent several batteries, one taking air and one almost blowing up his dog, who chased it when tossed, because he knew something was not right, and has torqued the 510 connection of a 20 watt capable regulated. lol
So the IMR high drain 30, 35, & 50 amp continuous battery and quality charger lecture was given. Also the hazards of not knowing what you are trying to accomplish. Noticed that he was taking notes, informed him there would be a test Saturday. lol
People who want to know, I'll take the time to explain and answer questions, people who have heard, and there for know it all, well in go the ear buds and music sounds so much better. lmao

My response usually involves the fact that its just not hip to actively pursue cancer any more. *shrug* that one seems to shut up most whether they be smokers or not.
But oddly, I mainly only ever get flak when I vape out by the smoke shack at work and its from smokers. Most non-smokers I know are actually very supportive (they are probably just all really happy that I dont smell HORRIBLE anymore). I think its the folks (that I was certainly one of at some point while smoking) that feels like they are free to smoke and will do so regardless of the outcome...all "dont mess with my right to suck on cancer" or what have you. Its a wretched addiction and it really messes with your brain I tell ya.

I know what you mean.sometimes it's better to just end the conversation. I know it's a lot healthier than smoking was!

I haven't come across anybody that hasn't said anything bad about vaping. A lot of my friends are informed that it is vapor and not smoke, but they ask questions about the hardware and what flavors they are. When I tell them I am on 0mg of nicotine now, they are suprised there is e-liquids that are nicotine free.
I also take the time to point out the benefits of vaping over smoking which is better sense of smell and taste, better lung capacity, and no longer smelling like an ashtray. And they are genuinely happy that I am vaping over smoking.

Told my mom after she had been telling me to stop dipping after 5+ years. I asked her if she had ever heard of e cigs, first response" yeah that they can kill you" kind of demoralizing after being dip free for over 3 months and proud of myself, only to have the media brainwash my own mother
I usually avoid talking about it with people who didn't read or hear anything but what the Media is telling them.

I was fortunate enough to have an older brother and a friend who started vaping before me. Both are very logical and financially analytical people. The first thing they taught me was the cost of vaping vs. smoking. Now I'm hooked and have gotten a few friends in on it, as well. Still working on my mother, though ;-).
I'm still fairly new to vaping, but if anyone asks or makes some snide comment, I just tell them what it is. It's healthier and cheaper (for the most part) than smoking. Stupid people are ignored.

I had a subway employee tell me Id have a moment where I quit vaping for my kids since even after I said the dangers werent real and such she still went on about her stance. If only I had time to discuss it, or at least explain I don't even have kids and wouldnt stop even then.
I'm still transitioning and looking for the right mix that works for me, but I'm ready with my short answer when that happens: My Doctor told me to switch, that it's healthier than analogs. I'm glad to have a supportive doctor!

I've been lucky, not one person has tried to lecture me on the dangers of vaping. Even my very cynical, very opinionated mother who usually judges everything I do (gotta love her) seemed pretty happy when I told her I stopped smoking and am vaping instead. I'm sure eventually I'll get my fair share of naysayers though
