I'm about 7 weeks into vaping and have been collecting a little bit of flavorings and PG/VG and nicotine but I guess I'm one of those who is just not very good at mixing his own juices. I mean a couple are ok and a few I've tried just plain "yuck", but I know there must be really great recipes out there.

I understand nic strength, PG/VG, diluting, thinning, ml/mg/drops, etc. I know about and have downloaded the recipe calculators and I have been through the e-juice recipe sub-forum but I'm sure there are a few out there who have perfected the "art" of mixing delicious e-juices and have what they consider their "holy grail" of flavors, some that are better than what I could buy online.

So my question is "Are you willing to share?"

I am partial to as perfect a tobacco taste that is possible. To a sweet RY4, to sweet fruits and really buttery-rummy-vanilla type flavors. I'm content with 18 mg strength of nicotine. My current favorite is English Toffee, so I purchased Lorann's ET flavoring and have tried several mixes but still cannot seem to get it near what I've bought online. What secret ingredient might I be missing?

And if you do share, please use the "KISS" rule - Keep It Simple Stupid" so that I can have some success with it. Given in % or ml (or fractions of ml) is ok because a drop of flavoring is perhaps only half the volume of a drop of VG so drops aren't so accurate for me.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I made a pretty simple, yet delicious english toffee recipe I posted on the recipe thread a while back. I believe I used 10% english toffee flavoring and 48mg pg/pure pg as my base. If you already know how many mg you want and how to dilute with pg/vg then try the flavoring at 10% and see how it tastes/vapes.

Also remember, that the % of flavoring also goes into the whole mixture. What I'm trying to say is, don't create a base of pg/vg at the nic level you desire before you add flavoring because it will drop the mg level. I'm only stating this because it took me a few minutes to figure out on my own.

For instance. If you have 48mg pg, pure pg, and lorann's english toffee and you wanted to make 16mg juice using 10% flavoring, My recipe would be as follows:

10% flavoring (obviously)

33% 48mg pg (as 1/3 of 48 is 16, you want that to be a total of 1/3 your mixture)

57% pure pg

Sorry for the oversimplification of something you may already know, but I'm just trying to help as much as I can with what I know.

To answer your other questions, the only thing I have tried is the tobacco absolute flavoring from onestopdiyshop.com It does have a very nice tobacco flavor, when diluted properly and have successfully created a very close resemblance to a menthol cig with it. Other tobacco flavorings I haven't tried but hope to soon are the various creations from flavourart as well as seedmans.

RY4 I'm still experimenting with as it's a very hard flavor to get down right, and anyone who's gotten it right so far has neglected to share with the community. However, when I get it down, I will be more than happy to be the first to share its secret.

Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions let us know.

I understand and have tried a few of the currently posted recipes, but by "secrets" I mean if they may add a drop of this or that to enhance the taste or effect then I'm only asking if they may want to share it with us.

The post by Kismayaz has helped me already in understanding the method they use to make their e-juices. For me, every little bit helps.
