Red Oak line by Johnson Creek both Domestic and Tennessee (maybe Siklverthorn - havent vaped it enuf) are my top 2. Nothing perfumy about em to me. I too hate the perfumy taste - yuck - reminds me of my younger years when on a date things get a moving and kissing a girl's neck with a little too much perfume - well thats off topic now - sorry......lol....for me Halo Tob sample pack was a waste of money - unless steeping it will get rid of the nasty taste....

Dude you nailed it! That's it, kissing a girls neck is the equivalent to ....ty juice! I love it, I never thought about it that way.

I do like the JC Red Oak Domestic and Tennessee Cured as well. I ordered a sample pack of both lines from JC and then reordered 30ml of Tennessee cured. After the first 15ml I just got sick of it. It just wasnt working as an everyday vape. Now with that being said, I think I should have followed that sample pack purchase with the Domestic. I think it would work as an everyday vape. My only issue is VG is sloppy! I am actually gonna give it another try.

That's what I'm looking for. There cant be anyone out there who thinks that the Red Oak Line of juice taste like chemical. Most of the flavors I didn't like, but at least they didnt taste like a 16yr old girls neck! LOL:p

This may be elementary to some who are veterans or have been vaping for a few months, BUT,
are you sure you shake your juices really good before you use them.

Back in my Noob days I did what most do, get the juice squirt it in whatever you use and expect it to be awesome, and then OMG, but my description was bug spray in your mouth.

Well the vendor was very kind and took care of business, but I didnt shake the bottle before i used it. The flavoring is heavier than the base depending on what you are vaping, so the flavor can settle to the bottum and when you tilt and squeeze all yo are getting is, base, nic juice, or whatever else maybe be in your mix.

I learned that the hard way, seemed like all the ones I ordered from the same place always were nasty, well 2 times , lolol

someone asked if i shook the mix first....

That took care of that.

since then I mix my own, but i still SHAKE LOLOL

good luck in getting rid of the taste, and always , VAPE ON!!!

The only liquids I have had this problem with are the Flavorfull line from Good Prophets. It seems to be a bigger problem with the tobacco flavors in this line. Horrible rose/perfume odor coming off the liquid. It does steep out - eventually. But that process can involve a lot of shaking, removal of the cap and dropper and parking them on a shelf, more shaking... The shortest time span I've had to allow for steeping has been four weeks. And if you don't remove the cap and stopper to allow what is presumed to be alcohol in the flavoring to evaporate - it will take forever.

No problem with this in any of the DK stuff I have ever tried. Ditto with Liberty Flights Original line, Mt. Baker Vapor stuff, or anything from The Vapor Room. (TVR has some great menthols if that's your thing.)

I also HATE that "taste" I do my best to avoid it as well. Some I would suggest you test (samples when possible)
(I do vape mostly tobaccos though FWIW)
Copper Creek

House Blend
Blueberry
Voodoo
Twisted tobacco

And Halo Tribecca

As already noted taste is subjective but I never get "any" of those terrible issues from any of the above YMMV

I hate perfumy juices. HATE THEM!! You might want to ad to your list ePipeMods. ... They added a sampler pack to the site the other day so now you can try them all in one swoop.

Add another sampler i can't afford right now, sigh.

I've ordered twice in a row from EC Blends, and the only juice I got that was at all perfumey/chemically was tje Kahlua wizard. All the other ones have been fantastic. (Dragon's blood, dragon's tear, fruit smoothie, coffee your way, RY4, Peanut Butter Cup, Banana pudding, vanilla cupcake, white peach ala zoe) all VG options available.

Everything from blue mist i tried was perfumey.

My two 10mls from vapedudes is slightly chemical but probably needs more steeping than i've allowed it. All VG options available.

I tried boba's and gorilla juice from AVE and both were fantastic.

There's so much i want to try but I'm simply not in the position to do so. :'(

I think (I could be wrong) that often that chemical/perfume off-taste comes from ethyl alcohol, which many vendors use in some or all of their juices (some vendors, such as Ahlusion and Highbrow, tell you exactly whether or not each juice contains ETOH).

In that case, the magic cure is to steep for 48 hours with the tops off, which allows the ETOH to off-gas. Then continue steeping (closed) until the juice seems mature enough for YOU. :)

(And as mentioned above, SHAKE BEFORE EACH USE!:))

I will try that Eleanor - but IMO - if I pay premium price and try to support US companies - like Halo - they should get rid of the ETOH and steep it before they mail the juice or at least tell me the correct way to steep em (maybe they sent me something in the mail and I didnt read it) - I was just steeping them in a dark closet with the top on - will try what u said and see if it makes em taste ne better.

Did they actually tell you that? I've been ordering from them for a long time, and generally if you don't like the options on the page, you can let them know the ratio you want in the comments at time of purchase, or even send boB a PM with your order number and let him know. They are ridiculous about going out of their way for their customers.

Ronda, thanks for letting me know this!

I will try it, for sure. No, I didn't ask specifically, obviously, I should have.

I'm kinda funny about my VG though. I feel that vendors who "specialize" in VG-only tend to have the best recipes. Because VG only is their thing, and the recipe for a VG only juice itself is what it is....it *WORKS* without PG.

So, I am quite hesitant to take juices that seem to be "optimized" for vaping with some PG in it, and then ask them to make it all VG.

Hope this makes sense. Take a juice like Alien Visions Bobas Bounty or Gorilla Juice, it's popular. And they don not make it or even offer it in PG or even with a litttle PG in it. That says to me it is what it is BECAUSE the very recipe for the juice itself was created and optimized for that particular medium.

Since I smoke VG only (not sure why - just started that way) I am always looking for good VG suppliers. But I am confused - I checked Alien Visions website and they dont carry Bobas or Gorilla anymore? Are these 2 juices made by someone else? Thanks.

They are AVE juices for sure... Heres an AVE reseller that has them in stock: Alien Visions E-Juice

I, too, absolutely HATE that perfumey taste some juices have. This is actually why I have steered clear of tobacco juices for a while now, it seemed like the more I tried, the more I was getting that perfumey flavor. (with the exception of the BWB tobacco juices that got me off the analogs to begin with, and Boba's). I also recently tried Gandalf from HHV, i actually liked it and didn't get much of that perfumey-ness from it.

I primarily vape fruitier flavors now, or teas. Given that, my go to vendor is definitely Rawr, which I know a few others have mentioned. Some of their more complex juices will need to steep for a few days, as some change pretty dramatically...but it's been an absolute pleasure being able to get one fruity juice after another that I absolutely love, and that doesn't taste like perfume!

I mostly vape (and DIY for myself) tobacco . So based soley on that (and I may well be wrong) but I THINK.....many vendors use Tobbaco Absolute and "cut the dilluted" with some types of alcohol(s) (I use PG) that often (I THINK) gives the terrible "off perfume type taste" I make several (many) tobacco (even with TA) that do not have even a hint (TO ME ) of that so...... as always though YMMV

Do you steep like Eleanor suggested - top off for 3 days and then with top on for a week? Or since the flavor you use (from FA) does not need such steeping? I recently purchased flavors from WL - made by TPA - am just steeping then in a dark closet for a week. The juices I made are approximately 15/85 vg/pg....thanks.

I rarely steep any joose with cap off, none of my DIY , all my flavors are TPA (or TFA from same vendor ) "cap off" works well with alcohol based flavorings IMO (which I try to avoid). TA (Tobacco Absolute) does need some steeping time (IMO) even when mixed with PG (VERY strong even when dilluted as required) That being said MY dillution of TA can be vaped right after mixing (it just get much better to MY taste with some more time) it doesn't take much at all to make a 10ML bottle (of which only a few drops go into 10 ml mixed joose) so making it ahead to steep is not really an issue for me at all YMMV
ETA:

All tobacco flavors beneit (greatly IMO) from steeping time, they're usually rather complex and it just takes time for them to come into their potential. (since I keep > 50ML of the best ones already steeped I almost forgt that point at times LOL)
