If you have firefox there is a real nice free addon called Lazarus. It is a form recovery and you will never have to copy/paste or retype a forum post again!

Anything like this on IE7? I have the same problem when the server changes over...makes you want to scream! 8-o

And most tiimes, by that time of night (or morning), I can't think about copying and pasting every post before I submit. Would love to find a program like that in windows, if there is such an animal.

I noticed the slowdown right after Judge Leon's ruling. Now that things have calmed down, the forum is running smoothly for me. I use Firefox.

While we are on the subject of a large and busy forum, may I suggest that threads that have not been posted to in a while (a month or more), be deleted, with the exception of the "Announcements" and "E-Cigarette Technical" sections, in order to clear up the clutter and perhaps speed things up a bit?

It's not my intention to start a debate as to what is important and what isn't, I leave that up to the management.

Jerry, that subject has been brought up before and it seems to bring about mixed feelings. Some say the old threads are still valuable....while others mention what you say....maybe getting rid of some of them would help the server issue. I think right now IT is looking into a lot of possible causes and options regarding the slowdown....hopefully they'll come up with something soon.

Lawnman, what message do you get when you try to start a thread? We need to know that. As far as closing the posts in the classifieds, it seems some members can and some can't....haven't figured that one out yet either. Wonder if it has anything to do with post count? IDK, but we've had similar complaints from others as well and we are looking into it.

Thanks,
Lu

Whats that in UK time? ECF slows for me at about 8 - 9PM UK time but it recovers shortly after :)

1:00 AM EST = 6:00 AM in London, according to my world clock program on my cell phone.

For other users who have had issues with pages loading etc., have y'all tried cleaning out your cache? This has caused issues for me when I was still using IE and Windows. I've found I have had to do it less often since I've switched to Ubuntu Linux 9.10 running Firefox 3.5.

I'm starting to notice this again, like before they switched servers.

Also when I click a thread title it jumps to a random spot in the middle of the thread.

This is what I am experiencing also. I click on a thread and the screen flickers a few times and it jumps to an earlier part of the thread, I have not experienced this on any other site during the same session.

Very Seldom have I had any issues with site..
At most was click post reply takes 5 seconds.
You may want to check your DNS. As DNS & or packet loss can cause you issues.
I do not use my providers DNS. I have another set of DNS Addies to use.

As I use to have problems browsing sites such as FaceBook myspace ebay and many others While using my providers DNS Servers. Either page not found or error pages to blank pages.

Adding after I hit submit took 10 seconds to take me back to page..
Possibly My Side.

Go to thread display mode and change it to "Linear - Oldest First".

for those having issues you may have setting issues. as I have not come across any issues tonight except for when I lost internet for about 2 minutes. LOL.

FIRST TRY A DIFFERENT BROWSER
SECOND CHECK PACKET LOSS
THIRD CHECK DNS

For those not familiar with those things I only know USA Settings that could be used. 4.2.2.2 4.2.2.3 Those are 2 DNS that is very common to use.

If u need help Changing your DNS & in the States. Feel free to message me. & I will reply as soon as I get a chance. or else Google How to change dns
