Is everybody using the same ingredients?

I've been reading a lot and soaking up a lot of vapor related info these past weeks so that I could get up to speed. There's still a couple of things that I am curious about.

From what I understand, there's only a handful of brands that make concentrate flavors that people use to make their juices.

There are so many vapor juice brands out there. Do these juice brands all use the same concentrate flavors from the same handful of brands to make their juice, just in different blends?

If somebody was doing a DIY project, is it technically possible to replicate the most premium e juice available? Because when it comes down to it, if everybody is using the same ingredients and if everybody has easy access to said ingredients, then the only difference should be the formula and the ratio of ingredients, am I right?

For the most part, I'd say that's correct. I've read about some companies that do their own flavor extraction, but I can't remember their names. There are a lot of recipes you can find online to make clone juices. I like to browse flavor descriptions for ideas and inspiration for my own recipes.

I'm aware that some companies do tobacco extraction (NET) for their juices, but do you mean that some companies also extract and make their own concentrate flavors like vanilla or blueberry?

I'm not yet prepared to dive into the world of DIY juice, but it certainly seems interesting.

A company called Ahlusion does that to a limited degree I believe. There may be others.

I think Nicoticket also makes their own vanilla. So there are definitely exceptions, but for the most part, you're probably right.
Most of the vendors that I actually enjoy all have a similar flavor profile. They are probably using the same or similar ingredients. But I really have no idea, since I've never tried any DIY.

Nicoticket extracts their own vanilla, he steeps the pods for 30 days. Five Pawns also extracts all their flavors.

Five Pawns do not extract their own flavours. Take a look at their website, nowhere is it stated that they make their own* and I am pretty sure that they would shout it from the rooftops if they did. They source locally (which could mean anything).

*Unless they have changed their recipes since I last looked at their site

i would say 90% of the vendors source their materials from the
same place we could get supplies from. some are extracting their own
flavors. be aware though some sites say they use only locally sourced
naturally extracted flavors.this means that if a flavor is cheap enough
to extract you can get it naturally extracted.most flavors are prohibitively
expensive to extract naturally when its dirt cheap to synthesize them.
hence some flavors you will never find naturally extracted.

From their website:

"We use only the finest ingredients sourced domestically and locally. All liquid is made in the state of California. Our liquid blends are comprised of 50% VG / 50% PG. Our flavors are extracted from actual base ingredients and we offer 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, and 18mg nicotine levels."

Yes their flavors are from extracts but it does not say that they do the extractions. Nor does it say from all natural bases.

Not quite. As already stated, yes some companies do in fact extract their own flavors.
That said, many of the premium juices can be replicated. What you end up paying for with many premium juices (which carry a premium price tag) is the time and effort you are saving, not having to try to "figure out" the recipe. In any case, I prefer DIY. Of the 15+ juices I've made, and recipes I have followed, there have only been 2 that I disliked.

man I bet their Peanut Butter and Banana Extractions are messy as hell! I can just picture a big vat of peanut butter filled with PG! UGH!

Heck or a bucket of peeled bananas floating in PG.

I would say most companies do use the normal eliquid flavorings but there are exceptions. Also, it's not as easy as it seems. There are hundreds (probably more) of flavors and several brands to choose from. I have been DIY'ing for years and just recently have actually started becoming good at it. It's tedious and a lot of times unrewarding. So while you may be able to stumble upon a "clone" of a beloved juice, more than likely you'll just be able to come up with something close. Just be prepared for a lot of duds before coming up with anything good. Most people I have talked to give up before they get to that point. The good thing is that forums with eliquid recipes are becoming more popular now so it makes all of this MUCH easier than it used to be. I would recommend starting there. There are already tons of clones out there that people have already figured out.
