Is g plat wire worth all the hype

I have not used G-plat wire but I'll give you my opinion from my experience with Kanthal, titanium and nickel.

All the above vape pretty much the same if you use the same wire gauge, inside coil diameter and number of wraps. The resistance will be different with different materials but that doesn't make any difference with regulated mods because you set the watts. It makes a huge difference with mech mods because the resistance sets the watts. Different materials transfer heat a bit slower or faster, but that really isn't significant IMO.

If you're thinking that because it's welding wire it might not be safe to vape, I have not read anything that supports that. 316L is always 316L. I would not dry burn SS bright red hot to avoid any nasty oxides like hexavalent chromium, but that's it. I also avoid that with Kanthal.

IMO it's just hype. OTOH at $8 for 100 feet it's pretty cheap to try out and see for yourself :)
