Hi I'm new to vaping. I was a smoker for 10yrs and now vaping out of ego twist for about a week. I vape on 0mg nic ejuices, mainly for the flavor and vape produced. I see some youtuber say it's "cheating" to vape on 0mg. It's not like I care if I'm cheating or not, but is it really cheating if you vape with zero nic? If so, why? I dont understand the concept. Thank guys.

lol thats dumb to say and have no clue why anyone would think that. vape what you want but he must be saying its cheating as your getting no nic so dont need to vape and only doing it to have the feel but still if it helps how are you cheating. think everyone is confussed about this maybe lol, ask him what hes going on about.

It's Youtube, take it with a grain of salt. I guess it's 'cheating' your body by fooling your mind into thinking you're smoking while you're not getting any nicotine, but if you can do it, that's pretty good in my book. I know a lot of folks on this very forum who would kill to be able to vape 0mg instead of having to get nicotine juices, I know I'm on the path towards zero-nic myself..

Cheating on WHAT? I don't know what to say because it makes no sense. It's in the same category of 'logic' as "e-cigarettes are fake cigarettes so I either quit or keep smoking the real thing". I know people who vape low and no nicotine and they enjoy it. What can EVER be wrong with that?!

I, for one, specifically enjoy the effect nicotine has on me. I don't always vape for the nicotine - as lots of time I vape for the flavor - but I do respond well to being nicotinized. My ability to focus is increased (otherwise I'm almost ADD), I'm calmer and less frustrated. That's that.

I find it funny that in certain medical academic circles people (important people) secretly use nic patches. I'm not sure why the secret, but they recognize the ability of nicotine to enhance one's cognitive prowess. And it's much less dangerous than alternatives... I proposed vaping to some and they found the thought abhorrent. I couldn't get them to use that cognitive prowess to justify why :D

You can't cheat unless you have an agreement to be cheating on.
Using notes on a closed test is cheating - using notes on an open book test is part of the test - to make sure you have usable notes.

Whatever weird script is running through his mind that he seems to think the entire world should also be using is totally his problem, has nothing to do with the rest of us.

I use 0 nic juice on all my flavors except menthol. So if I need a hit of nic I go for the menthol. If I need the business and structure of the vape, I go for the flavor. That is my agreement with myself, and as long as I'm not sneaking around and hiding nic in my other juices there is absolutely no cheating involved.

How about you ? What is your agreement ? Who is your agreement with ? What would it take to be cheating on it ?

Quitting cigarettes using e-cigarettes does more than just replace the nicotine that was provided by the stinkies. If this wasn't true, then why aren't the nicotine patches, lozenges, and gum more effective than they are?

Vaping allows continuation of the oral fixation, or the hand-to-mouth ritual, that is ingrained into our personality. It is just as much a part of the addiction as nicotine. The gum/lozenges/patches don't go there.

Vaping also provides a replacement for the feeling of a warm substance (vapor for smoke) in our lungs. The other three don't go there, either.

I don't understand what is meant by cheating. Is the youtuber saying you are cheating by not vaping with nicotine, or by not totally quitting (inhaling something visually similar to smoke)?

Either way, I guess it depends on what your goal is. My goal is to lower my health risks by not inhaling combusted materials. Quitting completely would be great, but I've tried that many times without success. In my mind I would be cheating myself of better health if I kept trying to quit and failing. If that was the only acceptable goal to me I'd still be smoking. That would put me at two entire additional years of smoking, rather than the past two smoke free years that I've had.
