I haven't got my kit yet,

Canada Post is killing me here, but I read lots about people that vape publicly, and people that try to stealth vape. My plan was that if I need a puff I will take it, if not I'll hold back.

Has anyone been ostracized, demanded that they leave or any other such actions? In those cases were you allowed to explain your side or just cut off? I read a lot of US stories on here but am looking for more homegrown Canadian info. I know the links to point them to, but some people arent patient enough for that.

Tell me your public vaping stories.....

Edit: Once mine shows up I plan on wearing it on a lanyard outside if my jacket and puffing as needed, I'm not going to try to hide it, plain and simple. I smoke and didn't hide it. I won't take a better option to smokes and hide them.

As a general rule Kagey, I don't hide my ecig and carry it openly around with me.

However, my vaping is discrete in that I'm not going to be blowing huge plumes as I'm grocery shopping or wandering the aisles of wally world. I do vape at work, but only in my office and not in front of clients.

In restaurants or bars I generally ask if it's okay to vape, and if it's not, then I don't, or I stealth vape.

I have stealth vaped at the movies too, but that was just to see if I could.

I'm not an "in your face" kind of person so I do what works for me. ymmv.

I have been approached by people who see my pv and want to know if that's "one of those e-cig things" - but no one in public has ever ostracized me for using one.

Some of my family give me a hard time . . . . . . , but, that's a different story for another day. :)

I agree.
Vaping may not be explicitly illegal in certain situations but that is not the same as being explicitly permitted either.
I never had the overwhelming urge to smoke at Wally World or at the doctors waiting room so I can generally do without vaping in those same situations.
Keep in mind that when you are out and about, you are likely on private property and the owner, either a company or a person, has some say in what goes on there.
There have been a number of recent media items on vaping. I just don't feel it would be good for the community if vaping got any bad publicity from even one incident.
Be discrete and be courteous.

I'm still very new at this, but my feeling is that I wouldn't likely vape where I wouldn't have smoked. (With the exception of vaping in my home, where I did not smoke.)

Very good rule of thumb.
I still go out for smoke breaks with a few people at work. I try to stand up wind but there is a social aspect to it that I like. One manager for another department and I do this a couple of times a day when we are working out of the same office. It gives us a chance to vent and a couple of time we have actually come up with some good productive solutions to problems.
BTW, anybody know of a really good menthol tobacco flavour liquid? I just may convert her to vaping someday...

I do not nor will I ever, hide what I do. Hell I vaped in the crown prosecutors office a couple months ago. I admit I do have the gift of gab, but I explain what it is, that there is no nasty smell... if I even get asked. I have a reo grand so hard to hide it anyway.

I am proud to be a vaper, and I want people to know I vape

How can we carry the good word if we don't practice what we preach. Just be brave and respectful in public at the same time.

I'm proud to be vaping too, but I wasn't a big public smoker, and won't likely be a big public vaper. Neither will I hide, however. Ill say one thing...I'm so glad to not have cigarette butts to worry about. I really tried to dispose of them responsibly, but how lovely to be done with them altogether!
