Is it just me?

I have to say that I'm getting pretty excited about the idea of not smoking, if it turns out this choice is for me. I should find out this weekend.

But...... on the other hand.......
Some how I feel like I'm doing something almost illegal. Kinda like back in the day when I used to smoke "other" questionable stuff (that was way, way, way, way back when). I mean you kinda have to know someone who knows someone who knows someone even to get one if you don't want to wait for one to be delivered through the mail. There's very little info out there (other than the scammers trying to give you free stuff to get your cc number). Not to mention all the legislation going on to prevent them from being sold or even used.

I mean it's not like wanting to buy a toaster. You can walk into just about any store, even the local drug stores now and find one, the only decision you really have to make is what brand and how many slices you want.

Anybody else feel like this or is it just me?

Maybe it's just the whole "Anti Smoking" movement that I'm tapping into.

Some people just love to meddle in other peoples lives. So you're always going to have those people that wish to say, you can't do this and you can't do that and blah, blah, blah...

What can you do?

The only way I'll stop vaping is when I decide to stop. No government or person has the right to tell me what I can or cannot do with my own body - period!

Nope- I don't feel that way at all... I'm actually pretty proud to show off my ecig. I've been smoking since I was 15 years old (well until I found these)- tried to quit a MILLION times... No luck 'til these and I feel soooo much better from it. I even have some non-smoking buddies that think they're pretty neat too. :)

Part of the prob is that our "free" society isn't. I saw a blog post once where the writer summed it up nicely. Every morning, we crawl out of our beds made from government approved materials covered with government mandated chemicals. We eat only USDA approved meat, drink milk produced in government approved facilities, take only those medications that the government has approved as safe. The list just goes on and on.

And when we decide we want to do something outside the "norm," we often look over our shoulders because we know that someone out there won't approve and will want to regulate it.

Our family *lives* outside of the "norm," so I'm kind of used to it. :) But it still makes me angry because as long as I'm causing no harm to others, people and governments should mind their own business.

That about sums it up ;)

I was excited about quitting the analogs when I first got my PV. It worked too. I don't feel weird about using mine in public. I even have a bumpersticker advertising them. I like to get the word out whenever I can. I felt more self concious when smoking analogs in public because of how many are afraid of second hand smoke (even when outside).

edit: Also we have a few stores that sell e-cigs here in town, so I don't think it should feel that illegal cause it's not by any means right now.

Where did you get your bumper sticker from?!

kimsark--Wal-Mart sells the e-cigs also, so actually you could walk in and buy it with your toaster ;-)

I feel extremely proud of myself for having made the choice to start vaping. I'm just like everyone else who has at one time or another, tried everything and anything to quit smoking. I started smoking when I was 12. I didn't know what life was like without it... until now.

I've vaped everywhere I can, business and socially... It draws some curious attention sometimes and I'm more than happy to share my experience with others. More often than not people either want to learn more for themselves, or they want to suggest it to someone else who might discover they can finally quit painlessly.

I have laughed at myself when I'm playing around with my "vaping box", organizing my smoke-juice bottles and futzing with all my do-hickeys that it might look like contraband to someone... but it amuses me :)

I've been accused more than once of being a "rebel without a clue" - so... whatevah :D I rather like that I can't just walk into a store and stroll down the "vaping isle" - it's forced me to be diligent, educate myself and keep learning as much as I can about what I buy, who I buy it from and how I use it.

I couldn't agree more - It IS my body and I refuse to let anyone tell me what I can and can't do with it.

vape on! :thumb:
