Is it me or is the USPS getting worse?

I use USPS only. In the beginning I lost few pipes during shipping.Since i shipp them priority flat rate with Delivery Confirmation and insurance (aprox. $7) never lost one . The same for international deliveries with additional insurance i have sent few hundred international deliveries I had one shipment lobst initially but found and deliver in Spain 2 weeks latter. The secret is insurance!

Thought I would add my rant to this thread.

Ordered my first mod (Reo Mini) and it was promptly shipped on Nov 12th using priority mail with signature confirmation. Tracking estimated Nov 15th delivery. Of course the 15th arrives and there is no delivery. Tracking info updates later that afternoon and it becomes apparent my mod won't come til today (Nov 17th).

So I'm staring out my window all morning in anticipation of seeing my mail lady. She arrives, and I go to the front door and wait for the knock. I'm frothing at the mouth in anticipation. Then, without explanation, she leaves a note in the mailbox and leaves. I run to the mailbox and find the note: "Sorry we missed you. You can pick up your package tomorrow."

At this point it becomes obvious the mail lady was too lazy to come to the front door, so she leaves a note. I paid $8 delivery for this?

I drive to the post office and demand answers. Everyone assures me my package is still in her mail truck, and that she was indeed supposed to knock on the door. I file a complaint and get the expected apologies. They ask if I want it redelivered later that afternoon. Instead, I opt to pick it up personally for 2 reasons: 1) I can depend on myself more than the mail lady and 2) if I see the mail lady, she's gonna get an ear full.

This has been an awful experience and lessens my already negative opinion of USPS.

Coming from someone who orders online quite often, YES, they are getting worse. Actually the last two orders I placed from Mad Vapes and Back Woods Brews came with tracking numbers and the post office marked both as 'undeliverable as addressed' and just held the damn packages for a few days even though the address was correct on both!!

Oh yeah, "signature confirmation" has come to mean, "you have to come pick it up". The worst part is that it's actually in the truck. If you can catch her while she's there, she'll give it to you, but generally won't come to the door.

On the plus side, you can generally go pick it up later in the day after she's returned (as opposed to waiting until tomorrow).

Definitely gotten MUCH worse throughout the course of 2011. I've stopped being a lazy bum and head to brick and mortar stores to do my bidding now...when possible. Unfortunately...Seattle isn't somewhere you can do that for vaping supplies.

December 1st I sent 2 priority mail packages to Europe and paid $100 (Christmas gifts, I figured it was worth it). One was delivered 12 days later, the other?...it's still sitting in San Francisco. Icing on the cake...both of them were going to the exact same destination. Called USPS and got the usual run around.
