Is it normal for my kayfun to only wick from one side?

After a few weeks with my kayfun ive noticed that I only see air bubbles coming from one of the wick holes.

Ive torn it apart and inspected to make sure there isnt any blockage or anything, but none from what I can see.

I do get burnt / dry hits sometimes but its usually remedied by drawing on the kayfun without firing.

Im out of ideas, should i take sandpaper or something to the juice channels?

Do you pull your wick up and out of the way when you screw down the containment ring? If not, it's easy to screw some wick into the threads and block the channel, especially if using cotton.

Most dry hits are caused by inadequate wicking. Either your densities are wrong, to thick and you choke off the flow through the coil, to little and you can't wick enough. Once wicked right should never get a dry hit until out of juice. Block, or even partial blocking of the juice channels can mess with wicking big time, that's why always hold them up, screw down the containment ring then tuck the tails in the juice deck.

I dont know how you do the wick but for me this is usually fixed by just trimming that side of the wick a small bit. in most cases it seems if the amount of wick on the sides isnt balanced this will happen.

while both are bad too much wick is easily a bigger problem then too little. my wicks just touch the shelf.
