I know there are 'experts' of all colors here in relation to e-cigs and the technology, so I wanted to inquire of your minds what the feasibility was for the following:

If I were to take a 510 battery, chop off the top, remove the innards, epoxy a second female connector on top after connecting it with two small wires to the bottom one, and then put that 'adapter' into a 510 pcc with an atomizer and cartridge on the end, would it actually power it while having 4-5 times the battery life? What is the voltage that comes out of the PCC in order to charge the battery to begin with... Could it actually end up being a HV unit?

Hopefully this doesn't all sound silly. Just couldn't help wondering if there was a poor man's 5 dollar mod solution to having a screwdriver, janty box, etc.

Any way it could work or is the power that comes from the pcc to charge the battery too high etc?

Thoughts?

No.. this won't work. The battery in the PCC is a 3.7V 1300maH battery. That, in itself, is pretty good! But... the output of that battery is run to a "boost converter" that increases the voltage for charging the PV battery. The current (amps) output of that circuit is WAY too low for powering an atty. Besides that, there is voltage sensing and charging circuitry associated with it..... it won't even try to fire an atty.

You could make a heck of a mod with the battery in the PCC.... but you can't use the boost converter and charging circuit at all.

Wouldn't it be awesome though if a PCC manufacture put a connection on the bottom of a pcc that went around those limitations, that you could just screw your atty into in case of emergency? Would be easy as hell for them to do too, since everything they'd need is already there except basically two small wires and a thin female thread connector.

Oh well though... I was all set to start modding lol (but then I know diddly squat about electrical sh..)
