So I'm moving to glen rock pa, no vape shops.
I can make my own coils, so I figure the next step is to DYI ejuice.

It can't be hard? What should I buy? well, beside the nicotine, flavoring. etc.
I know this is probably a dumb question, but. on myfreedomsmoke.com they sell a nicotine base. It seems like there is a pg/vg ratio. Do I have to add more vg or pg to it for safety reason? Or can I add flavoring and distilled water to that?

probably better to use 100vg nicotine 100 mg nic so 1 mg will be 3mg per 30 ml of ejuice
and no its easy as hell just need to know what flavors to stay away from like custards etc

buy vg and pg (if you want as you get pg from flavorings) from amazon, i buy 1 quart bottles for like $15 or something

buy blunt tipped syringes 10ml probably best to use, latex gloves if you are worried about nicotine getting on your skin, i did but i never use them, if you dont have some glass 30 ml and up bottles already, buy some of the 120 glass ones, i find them easy to mix and can just cap them when i am done

gl

by the way, you cant order ejuice online and have it shipped to pa now? vapor chef is from pa

Start small and work your way to more complex mixes. If I can do it you most certainly can too.

My base PG/VG: Essential Depot PG/VG glyCUBE: Essential Depot
Nic I use Nude Nicotine after testing all of them this nic for me is the best
Pick up some syringes and bottles on ebay. 510central has a good price on bottles.
3 ML slip-tip disposable syringe 100 syringes/box (without needle) | eBay
I use this software which made it real easy: eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

It wasn't hard for me at all. I just ordered up the PG and VG, some flavors and nic and went at it. Accept that you will make some disappointing juice and just go ahead with it until you get something good. You might mess up a small batch or two before you start zeroing in on it, but you WILL get there, and you WILL save a boatload of money! It's a process, go with it.

I tried to DIY, Didn't find it hard at all but i could not mix a flavor that i liked enough to vape all day. I tried everything like simple single flavor mix and steeping for a long time but i kept comparing it to my favorites from Nicoticket (i really love their liquid) and it was always a let down. I dont know what they do but i know nothing i made was even close to as good.

If you are worried about making a flavor you like play it safe and dilute some premix you know you like. Do that by making some unflavored with the same percents of PG, VG, and nic as the commercial liquid then dilute to 33/66 or 25/75. The flavor might be a bit less intense but as soon as you get used to that you may find the original full strength flavoring is too strong. If that is successful you are saving money and building confidence. There are flavorings sold for use in vaping that are stand alone. You don't need to buy a lot of generic flavorings and experiment. Some people do that for a hobby but DIY does not have to start that way.

If you can master coil building then DIY will be just as easy, and just as much as a challenge. I found that if you follow others recipes first for clones of juice you know you like or flavors that sound good, then things are easier. I guess the biggest challenge is getting an ADV recipe down and then getting ahead of your needs. mixing juice you need to vape now is harder to do. When you have time to play around and make mistakes it gets easier.

Just jump in, nothing says you can't buy a bottle or two of pre-mix now and then so you don't run out between batches. So many here will share recipes with you if you let us know your favorite flavor profiles.

I started DIY with a kit from Liquid Barn. Everything I needed was in the kit, including flavors of my choice. By the time I'd mixed a few batches, I knew exactly what I was doing, and what I would need to replace.

Regarding e-liquids, I look at the recipes in the DIY forum, mainly for ideas. Most recipes have way too many flavors for my liking, so I seldom use them. But they are good for ideas.

It's not hard, I use one of those online juice calculators eJuice Recipe Calculator which is super-simple but does exactly what I need.

I did not have good success w/ recipes and mixing together different flavors, as it looks I do better mixing single flavour juices. Like Atmos Labs fruits (for wife), try their Blue Raspberry, it's amazing and I usually don't like fruity. Otherwise I now mix RY4 single flavors. I have found I can't stand most of the custardish/pastry-type flavors, like Danish, Cinnamon Roll etc....tried LOTS of different recipes people posted who said they're awesome but disliked almost all of them.

It's really a trial and error until you found flavors you like and then manage to mix them right.

Steeping is a little pain in the ..., last week I made like 15 50ml battles, different flavors, better just make many and let them steep for some weeks.

** For mixing, all you need is a clean area, NIC base, Zero nic base, flavors, a bunch of syringes....empty bottles etc. I prefer either mixing mostly PG or 50/50, NIC base is always 50/50. Then I mix with 50/50 or 100%PG. Subjectively I feel as if PG mixes flavors better than high VG. NIC base is 24mg, so I fire up the calculator, enter my desired amount (like 45ml) desired NIC (6mg), that's it.

Here's some research you can start out with.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine bases regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

E-Cigarette Forum - Boletus - Blogs

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.
