Is it really worth mixing your own from scratch?

I have been importing from the UK a 24mg flavour nic juice and adding Australian bought Doublers to bring it down to 18 16 and 12 mg enhancing the flavour (sometimes) lol but I still get to vape the base flavour I like and recognizes.

I think its very economical (compared to smoking) to import a flavoured nic instead of all the rigmarole of importing plain nic from China then buying PG & VG,syringes bottles etc locally then having to add expensive locally bought doubler flavours ( which come from Over seas anyway) and then waiting for the steep only to maybe dislike it?

I understand that its a bit of fun/ exploring options but also I find it a bit of a false economy myself when you can just add an extra flavour to pre mixed for similar results!

First time I vaped almost 2 years ago I also got caught up in it all but in the end just started smoking again because I found it all too hard to get nic and a really good flavoured nic juice to satisfy me ( bit like a tailor made smoker rolling his own thinking its a better option)

Now its really easy to import ready mixed nic juice that tastes very good from a reliable O/S suppliers and its all come along leaps and bounds in a few short years!

I am almost 3 month without a smoke this time ( not a single craving or want) using basic Kr808D-1,s but I also have new "untouched" tanks batteries and other gear still sitting in the shipping wrap, plus old joyetech gear no longer needed or wanted because the new e cig look a likes are a fantastic alternative to smoking in their own right!

Back to basics seems to have worked well for me!

I can still support my Australian suppliers/vendors who without them I would still be in the dark/ blind to vaping, by buying gear and stuff but I just dont see the economic advantages of buying "Nic Juice gear" from them when they cannot supply the Nic? Why buy half a product when you can get the whole thing for not much more than mixing your own from scratch?

People choosing vaping over Smoking should also consider "The Emperors New Cloths" affect between themselves and businesses!

Just my thoughts :)

If you want to make your dollar stretch a little, buy your juices in 36mg concentration and also purchase a 120mg bottle of 100% no nic PG and one of VG. Cut your 36mg down to what you prefer, add extra flavor if you'd like and you will bring your juice price down.

But the savings by buying the non nic component locally are minuscule? I would gladly buy 36mg and water it down with flavour but my favoured supplier maxes out at 24mg!

It does depend. I have American suppliers for everything, and being in the states it means DIY is dirt cheap for me compared to any other option ($0.06 or slightly less per ml, compared to about $0.20-$0.35 to buy flavored pre-mix).

I could get VG and PG at my local pharmacy, but they're actually more expensive than ordering and paying shipping.

If you had to import things, that could be pricey.

There is a slight economic advantage but personally thats got nothing to do with why i mix my own. I mix my own because I LOVE the flavours the Aussie vendors supply. Yes i have to have the extra supplies of Nic, PG, VG, bottles, syringes and have to wait for steeping but i dont find it a problem but i can see how some people could.

Also, rather than waiting 1-4 weeks, i have my order delivered in 1-2days. If for some reason i run out, i know i can get supplies fast.

For new vapers, i'll always recommend to buy premixed as DIY adds an extra level of complexity.

For you, if you have a juice that you love then for sure, keep on ordering it from overseas.
