I don't think it would hurt it, but I would use vodka or PGA (Pure Grain Alcohol) if it's available in your area (My local liquor store doesn't carry PGA so I use the cheapest bottom-shelf vodka they have).

If you're talking about the isopropyl alcohol you buy at the drug store, it's got additives that make it taste bad and might very well be bad for you (some of the additive are poisonous). I wouldn't do it.

PGA will remove most stubborn flavors, some bond with / leach into the plastic and never seem to leave completely.

In my VERY limited experience, I've found that soaking for 24 hours in distilled water, then 24 hours in vodka followed by another 24 hours in distilled water again really helps to minimize the really strong hangers-on. There may still be a hint of the smell but there seems to be very little (if any) flavor carry-over. I did that after vaping a tank of Clove and it seemed to work for me.

Definitely would not use the isopropyl alcohol - PGA or vodka is the way to go.
The three day process above should take care of just about anything!
If you need the tank right away (and don't have 3 days) try hot water followed by PGA or vodka (for as long as you can stand it) followed by a thorough hot water rinse.
You can always do the long way if the shortcut doesn't work. :)

I never saw PGA being sold in stores around me so I was thinking Isopropyl from drug store would work.
Will try vodka, seems safer. Do you get any vodka smell lingering on the tank after your rinse it with water ?

Did they ban all liquor stores in NY??? PGA is in every liquor store in America from my experience. Everclear is probably the most popular brand.

The vodka doesn't leave a taste / smell if rinsed well.

What Jewels said. The alcohol smell goes away pretty quickly.

Lol. Around here, you CAN'T buy everclear because they legislated it out of the liquor stores. You know, to protect the kids.

So because a few idiots abused it, lets make sure no one can get it. The liberal PC police strike again.

Yep and the same idiots that were falling out of windows or having to be rushed to the hospital for alcohol poisoning are still doing it. They're just using tequila or rum or Jack Daniels.

Huh, the things you learn. I was one of those idiots in the nineties. Guess I snuck through my foolish years just before the Everclear ban!

Isopropyl is pretty heavy duty form of alcohol. I used it a lot to clean the gunk and remove clear coat from circuit cards.
Normally... with agitation...it should do its job quickly...after it dries it will leave a film behind. You don't want to vape this.
simply clean the components in some light dish soap solution and rinse until squeaky clean. :)

I'd only add to use an unscented dish soap.

I am trying to remove all traces of Midnight Apple from my Triton tank, can I soak it in isopropyl alcohol overnight without damaging it ?

Yes you can--just wash the tank well afterwards.

And I don't think you need to soak it overnight--just a few hours will do.
