you just have to be careful about the button getting pressed. I did this a few weeks ago with a tank setup and didn't realize it was pressed in until my leg started getting REALLLY hot. Luckily no damage was done to the tank, batt or myself :) You may want to get something to protect that from happening though...i know they sell ego lanyards so you can hang it around your neck, if that's your thing.

Egos have a safety turn off just click the button 5 times and it turns the battery off so you don't have to worry about it going off in you pocket and you turn it back on the same way. Also it shouldn't leak in your pocket unless your upside down on monkey bars but when you pull it out of your pocket screw off your battery and check to see if liquid has made its way to the battery post if it did just simply grab a piece of tissue/paper towel and twist up a corner of paper and stuff it in there and twist it around to get the gunk off the treads and post.

Welcome. I keep my eGo manual in a pen pocket all day. I'm just careful to turn it off like was said earlier. A lot of times when I carry all 3 pv's I'll up one on a lanyard around my neck and the other in a pouch that is built into my pants. If I sit down though I always take the one out of my pants pouch. I don't want to kill my vmax.
