I have been searching the net all day, and although i have found similar faults i cannot find one that matches the problem I have with my Innokin.

Ive had my Innokin for around 6 months all fine up until yesterday. I noticed it started turning itself off a little more than usual. I thought no biggy and carried on. Today I fired up my SVD and was greated with the red light and the LOV message. Strange I thought. I changed my batteries to a fresh newly charged Efest imr 18650 2250mah battery. same error same red light. erm im stuck!!! took everything apart and gave it a clean. tried other batteries same error, tried different tanks, same error. But every now and then it works for a bit, then stops. Im hopeing others have had a similar problem and been able to rectify it, but i cant find no explanation or cause anywhere. Tried exchanging bottom cap and batts and tubes with my Brother, (he has one too) but still no cure. Even took the firing pin out and checked the washer....Nothing. Its no longer under warranty and although i have 8 other vaporizers, I dont want to let it go.

:ohmy:ANY ideas or reccomendations would be appreciated.

I wish I could help, spuds.

Sadly, these VV/VW mods do all keel over and die. My SID is now only useable in Volts mode, and my expensive EVIC never even made it to six months old. (What a waste of money... thanks for nothing, Joyetech...)

There are currently 4 or 5 dead Zmax's on AAEC UK. Everybody (more or less) who bought an EVIC has thrown it away or sold it on.

(I wish people wouldn't do that to newbies....)

SVD is notorious for failing... I've heard reports from all 4 of the forums I am on about dead SVDs.

It's a shame. If I was doing it all again, I wouldn't buy any of these things. It'd be one Provari and 3 x Mechanicals for me.

I'm gutted for you.... it's annoying....

The SVD is notorious for button problems but you may just need to clean the contacts inside the mod. Put a piece of tissue on your finger with a bit of alcohol on it and wipe the positive contact inside also clean the negative contact. Clean the tip and bottom of your batteries. If this does not fix it time to look for another. I have had all kinds of mods so if you need any advise let me know. Just need to know your budget, what you use in the way of atty's and how much you use it.

It's not a button problem, your SVD is just failing.

One of mine did the same thing. It would randomly turn itself off then got worse and worse and finally gave me the "LOV" indicator saying the batteries were dead.

The fact that display is showing the error at all demonstrates that the PCB is drawing current from the battery (Not a bad battery connection) and it's detecting that you're pressing the button, so the batteries work and so does the button. The failure is within the PCB itself and the only way to correct it would be to simply replace the SVD since they don't sell the PCBs separately.

I've had 2 SVDs fail within 4 months and have seen numerous complaints from others with similar failures. My best advice is to replace your SVD with something else.

To be fair, im not short on vaporizers. I have a Vamo V2 which has been faultless and which I highly recommend, I have loads of pen style batteries from LCD's to twists ect. I have just got into mechanical Mods I have a Nemesis clone and a Stingray. So no real rush to get another VV mod. To be honest I never really "felt" the SDV. it looked nice but that was it. I wouldnt buy another. I was going to buy a Panzer this week, but have spent a fortune on vaping stuff this month. (mrs would chew my balls off, if she knew how much) Just spent £40 today on mixing supplies and PG VG ect. This month ive had the following. Innokin X1 tank - love it, Aspire nautilus -mmm ok (expected more), innoking 30s - nice (loves the juice), Kanger Aero tank - Nice, its my take to work tank, 2 x Kayfuns 3.1 - love them, 10 spare coils for each, Stingray mod, Nemesis Mod, 1 new multimeter, 1 mini blow torch, 7 concentrated flavours, 1 new 28 gauge kanthal coil, 100ml VG, 100ml PG, 100ml Nicotene, 5 x kanger evods and 2 x efest 18650 35amp batteries.......so to be fair ive had enough for a while.....:)

I made the mistake of buying a SVD at a vape shop while on vacation in October. Immediately started turning it's self off, then it did not take long for the buttons to strart malfunctioning. Read plenty of complaints about them since. I sure wouldn't buy another one. I've really gotten away from Innokin all together.

I get really good battery performance out of mine..
I'll be thinking, man i know this thing has to be low,and i'll still only be ay 4.0 on the charge..
Kind of glad i've been one of the fortunate ones with the one i've gotten..

When it finally does die,i'll probably gut it and make a mech out of it or something just for the heck of it..

Well today my brother had a look at it again. Could not get inside it (well at least with not doing damage to it). The screen does come off and then you should be able to disconnect the head, however i have found there are two kinds of head, screwed on and glued on. Mines Glued. I've tried using brute strength and either i am extremeley week or the glue is very good. It wont budge. so as my last resort i have left everything unscrewed and left it in rice overnight in case its got some amount of juice on the the board. I dont hold much hope for it and i truly believe it will be soon be joining those big clouds of vapor in the sky.

Final update - The SVD is no more. I got no reply back from innokin (didnt expect to really). Tried everything. As a final attempt i tried to remove the top to get to the PCB. Saw a few videos on people that managed it. I tried everything the top cap would not budge. The more and more i tried the more i was damaging it. In the end i gave up, but the curiosty got the better of me, i wanted to see inside. Even with a vice clamped onto one end(completely destrying the thread) and a hammer i still could not get the top cap of. i hammered and chiseled and butchered the SVD, it would still not move. I knew it was a lost cause hours ago, but still wanted to get inside. Got to the point where i got the saw out, (just so I could see). There was no reason why is shouldnt have come apart, it just didnt. So word to anyone thinking of trying to break in to the SVD......Dont, you cant!!
So with the loss of a VV mod, im looking for a replacement. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear the bad news. It must be an Innokin SVD thing. I read about a lot these SVD failures.

I have a Sigelei Zmax telescopic V3 that's been working fine for over a year. However, I read enough to know that people have failures with Sigeleis within a few months and others don't. It's just the nature of the beast. No APV will run forever before needing a repair.

My solution is to opt for the DIY Immortality Mod for my Sigelei and not to buy an expensive APV that costs three times as much and offers an extended warranty or paid repair services. The weakest component in the Sigelei is the single firing switch. The Immortality Mod for the Sigelei requires a 76 cent tactile switch and my ability to use a soldering pencil.
