I looked at wraps on RTDVapor. I found the wraps but did not find insulators. Where did you get your insulators and wraps?

I've heard good things about this site. Haven't ordered wraps/insulators yet, but was gonna get them from here. Unless anyone has a negative experience with the site. Wraps - IMRbatteries.com

I've purchased wraps and insulators from fasttech. I purchased these supplies way before I found a need to use them. I had never re-wrapped a battery until recently. It was very easy and took less than a few minutes (once I found a hairdrier that was hot enough to quickly shrink the wrap).

fasttech, thank you.

This thread looks insane for me. Rewrupping batteries? Really? Why? How did you get them damaged?
I never had a problem like this one. OK, I almost never take my batteries out of my mods. I stopped use dedicated chargers years ago. Still I do not understand how a battery can be get damaged...

My Hugo 133 was so tight when I got it I had to double wrap my batteries. Tore up original wraps. No problems until I got my Ark, evidently it doesn't like double wraps. Now that all mods are broke in I don't need to dbl anymore so can just strip batteries and rewrap. Don't want to fool with marrying batteries to mods.

Until a couple of years ago I used mechanical mods exclusively and they don't have chargers builtin. I got a couple of good external chargers and got used to that.

I vape only regulated mods now with chargers built in. I prefer the safety of my known good chargers rather than the mod's chargers. This way I also never charge while vaping and I like that.

When you always swap batteries in and out the wrappers will inevitably become worn. Some mods are worse than others for this. I usually end up re-wrapping a battery once during its life. It's easy and I actually enjoy doing it. Works for me but as always YMMV :)

External chargers and mods can damage the wraps easily. Replacing them by a new 1 cent wrap is a lot cheaper than buying a new $5 battery.

But i must admit that since i found out that those wraps could damage and i bought new wraps and insulators, i insert and remove batteries with much more caution, resulting in rarely having to replace wraps anymore.

Some mods are hard on battery wraps. IPV-5, I am talking to you.

But, I did want to say, I love IMRbatteries in general. Good pricing, great customer service, batts usually arrive fast and with free silicone carrying cases. On my last order, IMRBatteries threw in a few extra wraps for free. Oh, I know the wraps are cheap, but I love IMRbatteries giving the nod to battery safety. Their products are definitely genuine. They're an excellent vendor.

Once I realized battery safety, I started being far more careful with my batteries. With excellent results. All my new batteries look as good as the day I got them. To be fair, my steampunk nano tesla does regurgitate batteries with the greatest of ease, they just fall out letting gravity do the work. This is an excellent feature EXCEPT the Steampunk does have a bit of a wonky battery door. A silicone sleeve solved that issue, but only after a battery fell out while driving into my uncovered coffee cup. That was a situation I found needed to be remedied, and I had to clean and rewrap that battery (I know, right? But I fished it out of there very quickly and dried it off immediately.... Even with my nitecore 2 bay charger (the sleds aren't the smoothest thing of all time) I've found if I pay attention while inserting them (have developed the method of pulling them ALL the way down, letting the battery rest in the charger, then slowlllly releasing the sled) it's not really a problem at all. Prior to that time my son was always examining and freaking out about the state of my wraps. They weren't *terrible* but they weren't great, either. I am now far more careful with my batteries, and they last much longer before needing any attention.
