so i just rewrapped two 18650s today with a blow dryer and everything went good but i noticed the batteries are a little hot. still able to hold them in my hands. when you guys rewrap how close do you put the blow dryer to the batts? i was maybe a few inches away. they are sitting in a lipo bag right now to cool.

A 1500 watt hairdryer is good for re-wrapping. As Marc411 said, set the dryer on 1500 watts or so and hold it a foot or so away and bring it in until you see the ends of the wrap start to shrink. Move it back and forth and nudge the battery over with your finger to get heat on both sides of the battery. Once the ends are shrunk, pass the dryer back and forth a couple more times to make sure shrinkage is complete, then let it cool.

It's normal for a battery to be very warm after heat shrinking. It's an external warmth that doesn't hurt the battery.
