Okay y'all, I have a question and would very much like y'all opinions and/or answers. I quit smoking three years ago cold turkey and I did really well for myself up to about two years ago when I started to have the cravings for nicotine. I picked up vaping about a year after I quit smoking and started on a 6-8 mg nicotine strength. That was so awesome as it helped just as I expected. I no longer had the cravings and urges that I were beginning to have. But exactly three months ago, I started to crave more nicotine so I picked up on my nicotine strength. Now I'm vaping a 12 mg nicotine strength. And occasionally I'll even vape a 18mg nicotine. So it seems that I'm going up in my nicotine strength instead of going down in my nicotine strength. Is that weird or what?

Unless the lower amount never was fulfilling you and you just vaped more. If you did vape more often than you are now then the amount that satisfied you would be the same. Also, the setups you have been using will vary (voltages/ohms, etc) the amount of nic you're actually getting. Most find they can step down on nic so consider your vaping frequency and your setups.

Nah, nothing weird about any of that.

I vape 18 all the time, BTW. Happy Vaping.

Whatever keeps you off the smokes my man! I smoked for 16 years, almost 2 packs a day toward the end. I rolled my own so as to save a bit of coin. While I'm sure they're not healthy, I sorta got to believe the roll your own tobacco doesn't have AS MUCH bad stuff in it as a factory made cigarette. Anyway, I started vaping at 18mg about 8 months ago, and 3 months ago dropped to 12mg. For now it's the perfect spot for me, but I'd like to get to 0mg someday perhaps. Honestly not too worried about it. Just glad to not be smoking! :toast:

I guess it's normal to crave more and more of something you are addicted to. That's what it comes down to in the end. I quit smoking and started on 24 mg juice. Now, after about 2 years of vaping, I'm down to 16-18 mg. I have to focus and remind myself every day that I don't want to be addicted to nicotine anymore in order to keep going down. The hardest part is that I love vaping so much that I will probably continue it for the rest of my life.

No it's not wierd; if you vape a lot of 1 strength you will develop a tolerance for it and find a higher strenth more tolerable.

Keep 2 tanks: 1 low, and 1 high strength

Many people, myself included, keep a higher strength tank, but use a lower strength most of the time. When I get a craving, I take a short stint on the higher strength tank, then go back to the main tank.

In my case, I also get a symptom with my eyesight vision when I use too much high strength, so I suppose that gives me an extra incentive or yardstick to be wary of using too much nicotine.

I started at 18, after a month tried to drop to 12, now I just gave up and stick to 24, dropping to 18 here and there. I keep a mix of flavors at different strengths around. I like the hit I get on a 24 and I love me some nicotine. Today will be my 50th day without an analog. Don't miss it at all and never dreamed I would quit.

Thanks,
Rich

I'm definitely using more nicotine vaping than i did when i smoked. I'm using 36mg and it's more than enough. But even when i smoked i felt the same way. I mean i would smoke too much even though i didn't even need the nicotine. I never wanted to give up smoking, and wish i could still smoke, but my health was deteriorating so vaping was the best alternative. So now i seem to treat vaping the same way i treated my smoking habit. I have no intention of reducing the amount of nicotine i use and i'm quite happy to vape instead of smoke. It's not that i vape a lot because i don't, only about 3 mil a day, i just feel the need for large doses periodically throughout the day.

Thats not weird at all. Whats weird is when people who have never smoked a day in their life pick up vaping just because it looks " cool ".
Don't get me wrong, Im not bashing anyone or anything I just find that odd.. Does anyone else feel this way?

As for this thread, no it's not weird at all. I have started from 12 and now 18. Occasionally I switch from 6 to 0 mg when i use my dripper.
