Well, I am a BAD BAD GIRL. I miss my Djarum Blacks TOO much!!! I got some clove oil from them (I know, no oil on the atomizer!! Whatev, it's my atomizer and I'll clog it if I want to...)

Mixed some tobacco flavored juice as base and added some VG for extra vapor and then just a dab of the clove oil...I'm in faux kretek heaven right now. I nearly don't care about the 11 other bottles of flavor sitting there waiting for me...I'm so totally blissed out on my clove blend. So yummy!

I have ordered some 36mg clove but suspect it contains oil as I could not find any other alternative. I cannot tell you how jealous I am right now.

I can't tell you specifically about clove (although I suspect you are right), but many commercial liquids do contain essential oils of some type.

That being said, I don't see the danger with a *tiny* amount of clove oil because it is so concentrated and requires so little. However most of the other oil containing extracts will be much less intense (requiring more in the mix) and should probably be avoided.

I've been trying for a nice strong clove flavor for months now.

The commericial clove liquid I tried was too weak.

Throwing actual cloves into liquid works, but it was still too weak unless I threw so many in that they pretty much absorbed all the liquid after a while.

Just bought a big bottle of Bickford's clove flavor - they say it's non-oil based (contents are PG and natural flavors) - and after diluting my newly received 36mg flavorless 50% with it, it's still too weak!

Either Bickford's clove is incredibly weak or there's something permanently wrong with my taste buds, and I'm about ready to throw in the towel.

But first I'm going to order the LorAnn's oil based and risk an atomizer trying it, in the desperate hope it really is as strong as I've heard.
