It`s advertised (at least here in the UK) as chrome plated so I guess it`s brass.

Take a file to one of the threads in an un obvious place and scratch through :D

Oh I`ll just quantify that by saying that brass accepts plating readily but ferrous metals normally need to be triple plated (copper/nickel/chrome) before they hold the plating in this sort of appliction.

Is it magnetic? Brass is non-magnetic.

Looking at the video I would say the bottom part is definately chromed brass, you can plainly see the base metal showing where they have machined the two air slots.
As for the rest? I don`t know
Of course the whole thing could be made of stainless and double plated using chrome over brass! but I can`t see that! If it`s stainless why not advertise it as such and let it show :D

The Pit of Despair
In my opinion there is far too little concern in the vaping community over these "mystery metal" devices.

This if from wikipedia:

To enhance the machinability of brass, lead is often added in concentrations of around 2%. Since lead has a lower melting point than the other constituents of the brass, it tends to migrate towards the grain boundaries in the form of globules as it cools from casting. The pattern the globules form on the surface of the brass increases the available lead surface area which in turn affects the degree of leaching. In addition, cutting operations can smear the lead globules over the surface. These effects can lead to significant lead leaching from brasses of comparatively low lead content.[8]

There's also the issue of the chrome plating itself. If they're using common hexavalent chromium plating (common in 'decorative' plating), there may well be health issues:

From a health standpoint, hexavalent chromium is the most toxic form of chromium. In the U.S. it is heavily regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); the EPA lists it as a hazardous air pollutant because it is a human carcinogen, a "priority pollutant" under the Clean Water Act, and a "hazardous constituent" under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.

Yes the protank is solid brass with a thin plate of chrome. Cheap POS. I bought 3 and imidiatly knew they were brass the second they hit my hand. I was a machineist for 5 years and my father owns a custom machine shop for harley engine parts. I could tell by the wieght.

if you use them all the time the plating rubbs off prety easy, well takes about 3 months and they start to look like and old worn out vamo lol. The brass shows right through.
