Is more vapor what helped you quit smoking

Holy shizzle beck, you're an animal.... I would die taking lung rips from anything above 6mg.....

hey, it's what works for you that's important to you.

my dad can't vape on my grand/rm2 with 0mg without choking a lung and kidney out. (drilled out air hole and same coils, just only 1 of them)

the wife enjoys a hit off any of my setups once in a while when she's stressed. puts her right in the cool out seat.

pop vapes 4mg (but thinks he's at 6 still and wants to go down but has a mental block) on a carto day in and day out.

wife vapes 20mg on a carto day in and day out.

i'm just happy we're all not smoking anymore.

Went into a CVS store and bought a disposible Blu menthol....took one hit in the car...went back in and bought a carton of smokes. Later, we were banned from smoking in company vehicles. One of my co-workers was into this vaping thing. He steered me toward a vape shop where i got an eGo style battery and those plastic tanks they came with, plus a 15ml bottle of blueberry juice at 24mg. Then there were months of hacking, vaping, smoking, more hacking. Then was it pg allergies.....Max vg @ 24mg...more hacking and smoking and vaping. Gave up, went back, gave up. Then I got a hit of some local juice.....and did not hack...it was 12mg juice at 40/60 pg/vg.

I started gathering better gear, vaped more than smoked. Discovered rebuilding. Found that "eureka" juice....dropped to 6mg and got denser/more flavorful vapor because I could take a big hit and not gag. Discovered drippers at 3mg....I really hasn't been that long putting down the last of the smokes. But it;s been long enough that the smell of smoke is vile and I can't fathom going back...at least one day at a time.

Between Timid and Timbuktu
Becoming informed was what made the difference in my quitting...

This experience is from a different experience (not gear related), so I'll explain.

I first tried vaping when my OH bought me a cigalike from a Maverick station...is tasted like popcorn, cost too much, and didn't do anything. This was in....mid 2012. I had a friend who had just been set up with something, IIRC, that looked like a spinner with a iclear 16. I though...man, I need something that feels like a cig between my fingers...what's with this button and huge liquid tank? So I went online and bought a Vapor Couture kit in 1.2%. Found ordering cartridges a hassle...hey, what did I know.

At this point I wasn't serious about vaping because I thought they might be worse than my American Spirits. Quitting with them wasn't worth it...I was probably getting 80x the nicotine, and that's horrible, right?

Then I informed myself with the almighty google. I then successfully quit for the first time (?) with the VC kit. This was ok, this was better, and it was possible.

I wanted to order the tank and bigger battery setup, but I was moving 2200 miles soon and it just wasn't in the budget. Then I ran out of cartridges for good...and went back to cigs. A year later (I got very sick, had surgery, etc.) I got my itaste vv v3 and an evod. I quit! Sometimes dual use as I please, but very very rarely does that happen anymore.

I guess the point is that it might all be in your head

I think it was more getting used to vaping instead of smoking, the difference in how you have to inhale and such. At first, vaping tasted so much better, but something in my brain felt slightly less satisfied. I thought I wanted MORE vapor, hotter vapor, more throat hit…and I think those things are important especially when you're first going from smoking to vaping. I upgraded batteries, tried lower resistance coils, higher wattage, etc…and now I'm using an iStick at about 9w with a GDC tank most of the time or an orchid RTA, and I'm not blowing huge clouds or anything but I feel satisfied with my vape. And a few weeks ago, I had a full flavor Camel that would have made me cough when I was smoking (because I smoked light American Spirits) and it was like sucking on a straw as far as how it felt to inhale it. A straw full of burning poo.

I pretty much quit just on the evod. And I've upgraded slightly to protank2's, EMOW's and ET-S's. They provide decent amounts of vapor but nothing too flashy like some cloud chasers. It's the being able to vape inside, replace the habit of the act of smoking, getting the nicotine and the money saving that's kept me off the cigarettes. I still have a smoke occasionally but they're gross and I don't really care for them. The Emows make the most vapor, but suck up more juice. The amount of vapor is a secondary concern for me. It's nice. But I don't save as much money making big clouds :)

Started with a Blu, the day it arrived in the mail I was buying smokes later that day. Was like air, didnt give me any satisfaction.

Few months later I was going big time (or so I thought) and got a Spinner and a Protank 2, with 24mg I continued vaping this and is what really got me into vaping. I still smoked but not nearly as much.
Shortly after I discovered "mods" and rebuildables, bought a SVD and Kayfun 3.1 clone, within a couple days I was completely off cigarettes. I still wanted more though.
Not long after that I bought my first mechanical mod and dripper, IIRC a MCV Panzer and Origin rda. This is where it all went down(up?)hill. Bought an Atomic, Magma, this that, more mods. I bought everything that caught my eye...this is where vaping turned into a hobby. I got the thick dense warm vapor that completely satisfied me in every way, all the other setups before despite keeping me off smokes were missing something. My collection grew huge and I loved it.
Then I discovered regulated devices and now my hobby involves expensive electronics, machined metals and a LOT of juice.
With the Spinner/PT and SVD/Kayfun I was able to spend $22 for 30ml of gourmet premium juice and thatd last me a long long time. Now that'll last me two days so expensive gourmet juices are an occasional treat for me lol.
Luckily I have DIY and a local place here that has some pretty good house flavors at $22/120ml up to $74/480ml.

For me it was the right gear and the right juices.

My journey took some time. My buddy started vaping and I thought that I would try it out because I was tired of being out of breath and always feeling tired. I got a ego starter kit and told myself I would use it to cut down and eventually quit smoking. It worked for a little while, but I still wanted a menthol smoke a few times a day. I eventually gave up, but still vaped when it was cold outside so I basically vaped when it was more convenient. Well fast forward a few months later to my last deployment and I finally decided I was going to make a serious effort to get off the smokes. Luckily I brought my vape gear with me. It was not easy and I still went out to the smoke deck to have a cancer stick every now and then, but it got less and less. I had better gear and before I knew it I had quit smoking.

Fast forward 4 months and I would not even think of touching a smoke now. The smell is horrible and I feel 100 times better. It is also something that has become for lack of a better work a hobby for me. I am learning as much as possible, buying new gear and trying different builds out. The amount of vapor is not as important to me as the flavor, but I still like nice clouds.

Ive got great gear good juice and I still cant kick the sticks and barely vape :-( Im so frustrated. My coworker who was smoking twice as much as me almost completely quit within the last week and ive been trying this vape thing unsuccesfully for over three years. Ive always had really good setups too

Have you found a juice that you just cannot put down yet? That was one of the most important things for me. I had some cheap B&M made juices that never really did it for me. They were good for a while and then I just got tired of either the harshness of them or the flavor. Try some of the more complex flavors out there and find one that you just want to vape all day. I cannot put down this Strawberry Astronaut by Jimmy the Juiceman right now. There is a battle going on at my house between that juice and Eclipse by GQ.

Stay positive and take it day by day. Wake up today and tell yourself you are not going to smoke and that you will vape when you feel like smoking. Seriously don't give in and do the same thing each day. If you make a mistake then tell yourself again that you are going to vape when you feel like smoking. Only give yourself a few mulligans though. Get higher nicotine if you necessary because that may help more than anything else. That depends on what your setup is because dripping 24mg juice may be a horrible experience.

I quit a 2 PAD habit with an eGo 3 piece system - all I used for my first nine months - and never found anything to "blame" about the gear that stood in the way of my quitting smoking. What I'm getting at is I don't understand this "more vapor" attempt to somehow replicate something from the smoking experience - which was the last thing I wanted or expected out of vaping. I have never felt compelled to "feel" vapor in my lungs like the very smoke that was heading me toward emphysema. :2c:

Because its not the visual aspect that does it, for me, it was the so dense I could almost chew it that made me never look back. While smoking never did that for me, that did replace the satisfaction I got from smoking with something that I got more or equal satisfaction from.

Ummm...do you think the "barely vape" thing might be a big part of the problem? If you aren't using the gear for whatever reasons what do you expect out of it?

After trying a few disposables, I bought a Blu rechargeable kit from the local Walgreens. After a few days with it, I gave up. Waaay too frustrating - Not enough vapor to satisfy my cravings, the tiny batteries and the performance of the carts dropped noticeably after only an hour. Went back to analogs. Tried Chantix for 3 months without success.

I got something from my Blu experience though - A hint of the potential of these devices. "Maybe", I thought, "with a bigger battery and a more efficient liquid delivery system, we'd have something that would actually work."

I did some Googling, found this place, and discovered eGo-class devices. The Halo Triton had an active fan club, so that's what I ordered. I had admittedly high hopes. After just a few hits, I was like "Finally, that's it! I can use this to quit!!!". Better flavor and vapor than any of the cigalikes I'd tried. I trashed what was left of my Camel Lights, and I haven't even had a desire to take a hit off of an analog since that day.

To answer the OP's question, yes, more vapor production helped me quit. Having a reliable device (with a backup) helped me quit too, as well as having a couple of flavors that I couldn't put down. I soon learned to build my own coils, and removed the last frustration of getting dud or poorly-performing coils at no small expense.

I've upgraded my hardware, but this was a personal choice, rather than a necessity to stay off analogs. I was intensely curious as to what else was out there, and I wished to try everything (most of it, anyway). But I know many people who are still on eGo-class devices that they quit analogs with, and they're happy. All the power to them, I say!

Most around here will recommend an eGo-class device as a bare minimum to individuals who wish to quit analogs. I'd generally agree, with the caveats that time and effort be spent on finding some killer flavors that you crave, and also that the device be set up and functioning properly. There is considerable variation in eGo-class devices - some will just work better and last longer than others.

I've personally witnessed individuals quit as soon as they got their starter kits. I've also personally witnessed people take up to a year to be completely free from analogs. Raising the nicotine in the liquid may help those who get impatient, as may WTA liquids (I have no experience here, but others have found it extremely helpful). Bigger clouds from a more powerful device will provide a bigger nicotine hit, and may help someone break free from analogs.

My $.02.

I started with a disposable, it sucked compared to the real thing. I found the lack of smoke to be off putting.
So, I then got an EVOD2 and a vision spinner, and got that thing putting out a decent amount of vapor. (believe it or not, I don't even believe it anymore)
The amount of vapor is what got me to quit the real ones.

The body doesn't care about cloud. The mind might...

Try vaping to get the nicotine more. Nic vapor isn't processed via the lungs. Keep it in your mouth and exhale through your nose. If you are quitting smoking, it seems that would be a priority.

I make sure I do that when I need the nic. If I am just vaping for the sake of relaxing, I do lung hits from an RDA. That is my evening activity.
