Is my charger a POS?

Ok this tenergy crap i got with my provari is a pos ...

i just put a 1/2 drained battery on it and its showing a green light....


this thing junk or what?

Check the voltage with a meter. If it's over 4 volts, the charger may be sensing full charge. Make sure you have good contact with the charger and the battery ends. vape on it some more and try again in a few hours.

Charging Lithium-Ion Batteries

If a lithium-ion battery must be left in the charger for operational readiness, some chargers apply a brief topping charge to compensate for the small self-discharge the battery and its protective circuit consume. The charger may kick in when the open-circuit voltage drops to 4.05V/cell and turn off again at a high 4.20V/cell. Chargers made for operational readiness, or standby mode, often let the battery voltage drop to 4.00V/cell and recharge to only 4.05V/cell instead of the full 4.20V/cell. This reduces voltage-related stress and prolongs battery life.

yeah i been checking the volts its been like 4.01 when it goes from red to green... my other charger charges to 4.21 then green.. the volt on the battery 1/2 drained was 3.58 and it was green...

i dunno, my pila charger only takes my batts to 4.1 volts. charger might be doo doo. you should post in the technical support furm and see whats up

yeah i think it is doo doo i took a batt out that was on red put it back in and it sayz green checked the volts . 3.999 .....

Just for the record, I got the Tenergy and it works fine.

I didn't even know about the pila charger at the time.

I figured out after trial and error, is that my Tenergy Charger will not activate unless the batteries are drained below 3.8v.

Try bringing it down to 3.6v and stick it on the charger.

Mine works fine also. Maybe you got a bad one, or maybe it doesn't like partially charged batts like L7 says? Not sure, I usually vape mine down till the LED blinks....
