I just started vaping recently, so I can't tell you about the pro's and con's of every device but here are the few that I have heard good things about.

I personally chose the M601/M602. Got a good deal (afaik) from electronic-cigz.com. Customer service is excellent, product is fantastic imo. Does what I wanted an e-cig to do. There are of course a few things that it lacks, but that's across the board unless you mod your own apparently. Longer battery life (I've heard this model has a good life).. longer cartridge life (again, I've heard this one is "ok")... longer atomizer life (Honestly couldn't tell you, had mine for almost 5 days now and they're still going). Also you get 2 vials of e-juice. Tennessee Cured tobacco flavor is very tasty imo. Don't know many other flavors but I'm sure I'll continue to use this one.

I've heard that people like the 510 for its portability. So you might want to check into that.

Janty Stick... heard good things, but it doesn't look/feel like a cigarette. You might not care about that, I did. (Maybe I'll look into one later)

MoobyGhost and SuperVaporBros do reviews on youtube so you can get a good idea of what you want by doing a bit more research.

If I had to do it over again, I might have gone with the M401 because they have a USB passthrough and as I spend the majority of my free time on a computer, it'd be perfect. However, Sean said they'll have a M601 passthrough soon. Either way, you could get a passthrough and have atomizers for that and also have atomizers for your portable, whichever device you choose.

There are some threads devoted to (Which device should I get?) on this site, check those out as well. Good Luck finding what you want ^.^

You can't go wrong with the Sidesho. Very good unit and nice looking PCC. And now he's even got manual batteries for it. He'll even make up a kit with one manual, and one auto battery if you want.
Make sure you use the discount code for 20% off, (20ecf).

As far as liquid goes, it's very subjuctive. I haven't tried his liquid, but try some if you want. You're definitely going to need some. Personally I've tried Dekang menthol, Joye menthol, Nhaler menthol, Nuport menthol, and about 4 or 5 others. For me, the best one is Vermont Vapor menthol by a long-shot. You can get samples there for $3 each, so go ahead and try some. Decide what you like and then get a larger order the next time. I order juice from several places, but menthol, I always get from Vermont Vapor. Their Choco mint is pretty tasty also.

I also buy from VTvapor. Adam makes excellent juices. His maple is to die for...rich tobacco with maple, more of a very sweet tobacco than maple syrup, but mixes well with other flavors (add pecan...so good). His 35 mg unflavored is a great deal, and I have a fair amount of it in storage now. I use VG only 95% of the time. VG has less throat hit, but its so much easier on my system than PG, which leaves me raw after a while. I want to try his cherry...that didn't sound right...8-o I want to try some of his cherry-flavored electronic cigarette liquid...there, that's better. :D

I recommend the M602 as well and you can get it at a much better deal at www.absolutelyecigs.com

However, with the introduction of the new M40x PCC, that makes the M40x series as complete as any ecig. I'm sure the M602 will come with the needed accessories soon and as it is, is already an awesome model. But i'm gonna recommend the M40x series at the moment. Get a PCC, manual batts and USB Passthrough. Extra atties are mandatory. You will not find a better stock ecig anywhere else.

Fedor, the Sidesho is basically an improved 401, and is the same exact size. It also comes with a very nice PCC. The kit is a great value after the 20% ecf discount.

I personally like to direct people to a KR808D-1 battery when they're first starting out and they want something analog-like. Something like a Bloog or Vapor4life. The only reason why I do this is because of the options you have for vendors. If you get a 401 or 601, you are limited in the vendors you can buy from. So, you might end up in a situation where you are short on supplies and may not be able to replenish your stock as quickly, simply because you don't have much choice in where to buy. That being said, I've heard that some of the 401 kits perform well.

The two most popular and well-supported starting ecigs are manual Joye 510 and manual KR808D-1 (like Vapor4Life or Smokeless Image Volt). Both have supplies available from many vendors. both are supported threadings by cartomizer manufacturers so they each have a variety of cartomizer types available.

Re M40x - That's what I started on and it kept me happy for 3 weeks. By the end of the month I owned both manual 510 and manual KR808D-1 (I bought those because they are most recommended and most popular slim minis here) and I have been very happy with those for the last 7 months.

    in a cave, eh?
I just wanted to point out the dates of the original post and many of the responses. I think their opinions may have changed since 2009.

    Haha. Didn't even notice that.

Wow... Really so many things to pick up before i get to buy my first e cig...

I think you might want to consider either:

KR808D-1. The aforementioned Volt, Bloog, and Vapor4Life are KR808D-1s. It looks more like a cigarette.

Riva 510 or Ego. The Riva battery is not as reliable as the Ego, but it vapes noticeably warmer. Either kit should work fine for you. Both are about the same size, about the size of a Sharpie marker. The battery life is much better than the KR808D-1.

It seems like there's a problem buying e-cigarettes in Singapore, however. I don't know if people are able to get their kits past customs or if they're relying on vendors in Singapore to supply them. You may be stuck with whatever is locally available.

You should go to the Singapore forum here and see how other members are getting their supplies. Good luck.
