I am really starting to question if this piece is real. I purchased all parts off of Clouds Of Vapor brand new and have taken amazing care of it over the past few years. Then all of a sudden its like the tube was coated and the coating started coming off all the way around the edge. I guess if its a fake it was a pretty good one. Serial Number 1139 and I have not registered it because I was unaware that I could and I checked the WIKI page and it is still blank. I searched the forum and cant find anybody else who had this happen to them. Here is a couple of pics please let me know what you think. You can see it in the last 3 pictures. Thanks.

The GGTS looks real to me
Its not stainless steel but probably nickel plated
Others have reported the nickel plating doing this type of thing due to sweat
Not everyone but some people have sweat that reacts negatively with the nickel plating
There was a thread on it started last month
Found It

Your black marks look similar to the ones in the thread

The thing is I dont have black marks though like in that thread. The coating is physically starting to peel off all along the top.

First of all I can assure you this is a real GG. Secondly I suspect that you must have purchased the parts and made up this GGTS because the original Nickel plated GGTS had a knurled connector instead of the plain one you have on picture #1 just under the collector tank. Imeo only made Nickel GGTS with the knurled connector. So I suspect that your GGTS has a stainless connector and a Nickel engraved tube so it's not a complete Nickel plated GGTS.
Here is a picture of one of my original Nickel GGTS so you can see what I mean.

replating is easy, you just have to find the right store Poppa.
Replating or just putting of the coating are the only 2 solutions Bit.

I got lucky and found a 3rd option. One of your supporting members on here LongHaul was nice enough to offer to trade me a new SS GGTS in exchange for my damagad GGTS. I was truly suprised when I had a message from him with his offer. Thanks again LongHaul you are awesome and I will post pics of the SS GGTS when I receive it.

Long, are you crazy buddy? First time you send a Penelope for free to...... I cant remember now. Now you send a new SS GGTS for free to Bit??????

We have really nice people on GG forum but...... What can I say about this new move of you?

hey now don't call my new friend crazy for being a nice guy. Plus it sounded like he wanted a little project to keep him busy since he said he was into restoring GG's so I think he would be more qualified than me to fix this. I must say imeothanasis that I wished I had checked this forum out earlier because it does seem like a great group of people on this forum compared to any other forum I have been on.

Isnt the piece your talking about part of my UFS attachment and not part of the GGTS. I just do not have the other part of the GGTS in those pictures. I am pretty sure none of it was pieced together since I was on two waiting list with COV. One for the GGTS than a little later I was on the UFS waiting list.
