Very, VERY true!! My only hope is that he went with the regulated mod (IVP 2 if I remember correctly), then at least that'll give him some safety factor, but I'm pretty sure he'll still end up with a mech bomb at some point... he definitely can't say we didn't warn him... in fact, that's probably why he left. We wouldn't support his ignorance...

Have you ever heard or saw any YouTube footage of something like this happening? I have periodically checked (but not for awhile) around the internet for fails, but never really found much. I have always been safe, and am definitely an advocate for safety with however someone chooses to vape, but where is the carnage?

The dangers are constantly suggested by vapers', but I have yet to see the kind of fail mishaps that u see with say butane honey production or cooking ..... Is the possibility of an explosion really feasible from a venting battery? I mean having the inwards of a batt contact your person I'm sure would suck bad, but does anyone think that some of the (mostly unintended) scare tactics that get passed on to newbies within the community could be a bit exaggerated? If not some authentic evidence could really be quite a public service to guys like the sumo wrestling sasquatch above.

P.S. Please, do not misunderstand. All should practice safety; especially when vaping with the passé art of sub-ohm builds. I'm just kidding sub-ohm won't be phased out quite so quickly with the cheap super-regulated power that's hit the scene. Mech mods ooze style compared to a box, and just look so much cooler, and feel substantially more comfortable whether in your hand or pocket. LONG LIVE THE FLASHLIGHT!! Lolz

Yes, I have seen the carnage... look for P Busardo's review from the San Antonio Vapefest just a few weeks ago or so.... someone's 26650 mech pipe bombed because the battery vented and the mod did not... actually threw shrapnel up and punched holes in the acoustic tile ceiling...
