Hello !

I am intending to diy my own juice, I prefer VG and zero nicotine. Just would like to clarify few things.

My understanding is that, we need to use about 55% distilled water , 45% VG and 5% flavoring. Am I right ?

For VG, I will need to go for VG USP food grade. Now for the flavor which should I go for since I'm hearing that alot of ingredients are harmful for the lungs. I was thinking of using sweet leaf sweet drops stevia. Any experience with that?

Or should I go for Capella flavors ? Is there any recommendations of which flavor is the safest. It is hard for me to get them at my local stores as most of them are unavailable here. I would have to import the flavors .

Thank you !!

55% sounds pretty high for distilled water. I don't use any myself, but I use a combination of pg and vg. I like Capella's flavorings very much, but your percentage of flavoring will vary. My usual total flavoring percentage is anywhere from 15-22% depending on what flavors/recipe I'm making. I also use TFA. Have a look under the recipes section. Good luck!

ETA: Bull City Vapor makes buying "safe" flavorings very easy. Check out their site and you'll see what I mean.

Thank you @issy and @Whitaker2472 . But since I'm going for VG, it's gonna be too thick so I thought of going 55% distiller. Hmm in this case I'll try with 20% water , 5% flavoring n remaining for VG. (Got a feeling it will still be thick). Is the % based on certain ml of juice ?
If you use too much water you will get leaking. Most flavoring comes in Pg, so that will thin your vg even more. Percentages are of total mls being made. Example: if you are making 30ml of Mango & recipe calls for 2%, you'll measure 2% of 30 ml.

Thank you ! For a start I'm thinking of trying unflavored. In this case, 90%vg n 10% water should work ?

10 - 20% water is the usual norm for an all VG mix. Also any PG flavor you use you would want to subtract that percentage from the water. For example let say you are satisfied with a 80%vg 20% water plain base, if you add 3 percent flavor subtract that from the water so your total water added would equal 17%. Remember the only reason your adding water is to get the mix to a consistancy that will wick properly in your device. So start with just the base and 10% water and work up until it wicks properly. Once your good with that then you can add flavor while deducting water. Easiest way to think of this is to think of flavoring as replacing water.

So the flow you would use to mix is start with VG, Add flavoring then lastly deduct the flavor percentage from the water and add that deducted sum of water to the mix.

Hi omezarn
Any reason you are not using any PG in your diys? Just curious :)
