Ordered a USB Pass-thru from Totally Wicked w/ my Mega starter kit, about 12 weeks ago. It worked fine for a few weeks, and then just stopped.

TW said I could send it back, but for the price of the shipping just seemed foolish.

I then realized possibly the in-line battery was no good. So, I bought a couple of batteries from Cignot.com (Fast shipping BTW!)

The pass thru worked for a couple of hours on the second battery, and then nada. Same with the third?

Are the batteries somehow losing their charge, and not re-charging during use?

I made sure to order the 10440 320mAh's from cignot...

Would love to get back to using my pass thru during home vaping!

I've had mine for 3 days and this morning it stopped working. I emailed cignot where I purchased it from and got a response back within 15 minutes (such great customer service there). Anyway Vicki said sometimes the battery connections go bad and suggested I take the battery out and put it back in...which made me . For the heck of it I tried it and amazingly that fixed the issue. Works fine now.

I'm not implying that this will fix other people's passthru problems, just saying it's worth a shot before pronouncing your unit dead.
For what it's worth...

from the sounds of it all that could really be wrong is a bad connection if the new battery somewhat charged then there is probably just a loose connection that is touching if moved a bit.. the pass through does not need this battery though.

you can cut the battery section off and splice the wires bypassing where the battery was and it will just run at 5v

Always unplugged when not in use OMB.
Was using a USB port in my laptop Brewster
Try Libertysf's suggestion: try the iPhone/iPod wall plug, if you have one.

If that doesn't work, then you know your connection from the battery to the atty is in tact, but you may have frayed the wires on the USB side of the battery if you yank it out by the wire and not the plug itself (this goes for ALL electronics...never pull the cord, pull the plug)

This happened to me because I was lazy about pulling from the plug. Had to open it up and solder the wires back in place.

Thats a good way to blow out the usb port or your adaptor.

the usb ports only put out 5v + or - .5v

so it will wear out the atty faster.

there is no fuse built into the pass through so it is just as likely to blow out the usb port with or without the battery.

I still haven't made it to the Post Office to send the unit back yet. So, I thought I would try some of the recommendations here.

I only used it at work, so it was only plugged in my laptop while I was using it.

I tried taking out the battery, cleaning the contacts (Didn't work with the battery out).

If I take out the battery, and put it right back in; it works for about 2 seconds.

I do get ~3.6v output. So, it's just not supplying enough current.

Tried my iPhone AC/USB plug - No go.

So, I'm packing it back up and heading over to the P.O. in the morning.

I've had issues with my 510 PT as well. Except instead of not working they like to turn off the LED and stay on! Now when I'm done with each puff I put the cart to my ear to see if the atty is still on. Luckily I haven't burnt my apt down to the ground yet, but my confidence in Chineese engineering has gone down even more.

Note: I've tried two PTs from the same vendor and each had the same problem.

I've learned my lesson the hard way with the PTs with an in-line battery. I have ordered 3 of them (all from different places), and every single one of them crapped out after the initial charge was used up. In other words, for some reason, they weren't recharging that battery, and once the battery flatlined, I guess that made the battery go bad.

Fortunately, Electronicstix offers a 510 direct USB PT (no in-line battery). I plug that into a AC/USB and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I will never go back to using a PT with an in-line battery again.

I had on defective 510 PT, and the second one shipped, worked for a week and than it stopped. I put it on the charger (I have the good one, learned the hard way), and still nothing. I took the battery out to check for connection issues, and it was wet. The thing was leaking. It's been down about a week. I have the 401 as a backup, but it doesn't work as well. I got frustrated and had the hubby remove the battery box last night. So now its working fine again.
