I have a couple of cheap <$10 multimeters, one of the $5 from Harbor Freight. The lowest ohm setting is 200, so they aren't very accurate. Check youtube for videos on how to check your atomizers, this is how I learned.
First hold the two leads tip to tip and see what the resistance of the wires and device is. You have to hold them very still on the cheap multimeters to get the readout to keep from jumping all over. This will give you a sense of how still you need to keep the leads. Subtract that reading from the one you get when you check your atomizer. Then when you measure your atomizer, touch the red lead to the inside of the Vivi Nova or the bottom of an atomizer and the black lead to the threads, I have found that measuring with just the tip of the leads and holding very, very, very still so the leads don't slide around on the threads or the base works best. It still jumps around a bit, but I found I could get within .3 ohms if I keep it still enough. My prebuilt 1.8 ohm head came to 2.4 on the multimeter and when I stuck it on my Lavatube, it measured 2.1.
