bought some Nichrome wire today by UD 24gauge and I recall reading you use these for Temp control but when I'm trying to fire it in TC on my evic vt 60w it always changes to wattage setting. I am wondering why? was I wrong in the sense that nichrome can only be used in wattage and not TC
is Nichrome a type of khantal wire? won't fire in temp mode

Nichrome = nickle+chromium
Unless your tc mod has a specific Nichrome setting it won't fire in tc mode.
You use tc mode for such particular setting specifically for that type of wire only.
And no, nichrome is not kanthal.
Edit: evic vt doesn't have nichrome setting, it can only do tc when you use Ni200 or Ti01, the rest you can use power (vw) mode

ahh I see thanks maybe I will go buy some NI/ti wire. probably will do so tomorrow just to test it out
