Hi. I know I have asked similar question a while ago...
But now I have decided to try the TC technology and I have saved $150 for a new mod.
Currently I am very interested in the sigelei 75W but I still don't have enough information to pull the trigger (I wish Pbusardo had made a review for it...)...
Below is a list of my needs and I hope some of the more knowledgeable member can help me to make the final decision.

1. Compact - because I have relatively small hand.. any mod that is larger than a pack of cigarette can be uncomfortable for me .

2. Price - although I saved up $150, I am hoping to get a reliable mod (including battery) below $100.

3. Quality - I hope I can use this mod for a long time.

4. Miro USB charging - I don't want to spend extra money for a charger (plus I don't have an extra socket for it..)

5. Exchangeable Single battery - no reason, just prefer single battery

Because of point #2, I prefer the sigelei 75W rather than the VS RDNA 40 even though I know it is a very reliable device which fit all my other needs.

Here is the list of the TC mod I am interested in (Although I prefer buying an authentic mod from the U.S., I don't mind getting a good mod from FT or FC) :
sigelei 75W
VS rDNA 40
Snow Wolf 200W TC
SMY 60W TC
ZERO Modz Styled 50W with YiHi SX300 chip

And here is the list of the mod I am NOT interested in (can be changed if there are good reasons):
Hana Modz (I don't like/trust Hana because of something happened a few months ago)
Heatvape Invader Mini (I don't like the silicon skin)
Smok XPro (heard bad thing about Smok all the time)
IPV D2 (no USB charging)
IPV4S (too big)

Based on my needs, should I buy the Sigelei 75W or something else in my list?
Have I missed any good mod that fit my needs?

Thanks.

I don't think the Zeros with the sx300 have tc, but some of them have clone DNA chips that do. SXK makes tc Zeros with 40, 50 and 60Wchips. They are compact and comfortable in the hand. The sx300 is an older Yihi chip originally made for the 7-22 mod, long before there were tc chips. Its a nice kanthal chip though, and I have a couple Zeros with them.

Sigelei discourages pass through vaping while charging, just to let you know. Do you have another mod to vape while you are USB charging it?

The Snow Wolf is a two battery mod. I would not charge the batteries in it, if it were me. P4U has tried and failed twice now at making a mod that can safely charge two batteries together. And I suspect this is why the istick 50Ws have a tendency to explode while charging.

An i2 charger doesn't cost much and is a decent charger. It really is the safest way to charge batteries.

I have both of the Sig75 and VS rDna 40. I've had the Sig75 for about two weeks now and I still keep reaching for my VS rDna as my go to daily carry. It just seems to me that the Sig75 has some power efficiency issues... or is that "power in-efficiency" issues... just my 4 cents...

hope this helps

tonyc

and the Sig75 has a power button rattle... kinda bothers me :(

Thanks for the reply.

I included the Snow Wolf because I have heard good thing about it (the updated version).
But I forgot to consider the requirement of 2 batteries....
May be I should cross that out too since I don't think I would need 200w power....

I thought it is safe to charge the battery with the device (may be not for the less quality device?)....
If I buy the Sigelei 75W, it should not be a problem for me to buy a charger for it.
The problems are socket/room and keeping my cats away from it....

Although I don't have any tc mod (I do have an iStick 30), I usually charge it when I go to bed and unplug it when I wake up (never need to charge my iStick in the middle of the day).

Afcarmona, can you tell me more about the "power in-efficiency" issues?

Thanks.

I have done some research and it seems like the Sigelei 75W does has battery life issue..
But other than that, I cannot find many negative review on it..

This just make the decision harder to make...
For some reason, I really want the rDNA 40, but it is kind of a problem for me to spend that much money (although I have saved enough for it, I want to spend some of the money in other thing)...

Roxynoodle, is it okay to recharge the 18650 battery when it is not fully discharged?
And what battery will you recommend a user like me (stay below 30w)?
Or, which brand I should avoid?

Thanks.

iI have the SIg 75 and the IPVD2, while you listed it as one you don't care for it does have a charging cable with it ipv, you will need a usb wall adapter. or lighter adapter to use it. there easy and cheap if you do not already have one. the D2 last almost twice as long on a battery charge than my sig. its also a bit smaller and cheaper. I only ordered the Sig because I was sick of waiting for a small form factor Temp device. I do like the Sigelei's build a little better. but since I have the D2 it has been #1 to take out and about.
You may what to give it a shot. they both perform well but truthfully if they both broke I would go with the D2 Again, with both I would recommend Samsung 25R. but if your gonna be pushing it hard go with the Sony VTC4's both are good batteries for these. I have been using both and have not had any too hot or check battery warnings usually use in Temp mode but have used .25 coils at Max power.

I want to love the 75W I've owned for quite some weeks now, but the buttons stop me from being truly happy with this purchase. People seem to have different experiences with the buttons, but for me the fire button doesn't rattle, but it does make a horrible click when I release it. The up/down buttons rattle for me because they appear to be made from a single piece of plastic (wiggle one and the other wiggles too) and although they don't feel bad when you actually use them, they spoil the look, feel & sound of the device for me at all other times.

It feels like a quality device mostly because the screen has a nice brightness, size & resolution, and the doors are heavy. The weight is annoying sometimes and nice at other times, but I shouldn't let that reassuring weight actually influence my opinion as to whether this thing is built to last - physically it is so long as the door magnets stay strong, but who can say how the electronics will fare over time, its too early to tell.

I can't comment much on power issues because I've mostly used it in power mode at just 20 watts so far, and haven't noticed it eating the battery significantly more than I'd expect.

To be honest, if I had small hands I'd be really tempted to reconsider the whole 18650 thing and perhaps try the istick TC40. The only thing that's stopped me getting one of those is the charge port being on the bottom. But this decision would also be influenced by what tank etc you are using. e.g. for me some of the heavier tanks I've got feel a bit too heavy for the isticks really, and seem more at home on a larger/heavier mod.

Sounds like the quality control is not so good on the Sigelei 75W, or at least the buttons are not well made/assembled...

I did not know the IPV D2 comes with a charging cable...
But still, I feel uncomfortable charging the battery with the IPV device because of what I have seen online (something about the charging port melt down)...

I know there are some good/new built in battery TC devices, but I prefer removable battery.
Plus I have difficulty in trusting a cheap device (under $60) which said it could handle higher power (more than 30W).
And the failure in iStick 50W really makes me hesitate...

I have updated the list (crossing out Snow Wolf, because of the battery requirement and SMY, because no one mention it).
May be I will switch IPV D2 from "hate" to "want" if I have more information...
But right now, it seems like the question I need to ask is:

Should I get the Sigelei 75W or the VS rDNA 40?

I have owned both, rdna 40 and sigelei 75w and would definitely suggest the rdna 40 for several reasons. 1. I've found the Battery life in general on the Dna 40 large screen chipset to be exceptional in comparison to the yihi sx 330s and 350s. Also, the Dna 40 has less performance drop off as the batt gets low. Both have had Samsung 30qs in them. 2. I've found the QC with the sigelei mods to be sub par compared with Vapor Shark, not to mention customer service. 3. The Zip Charging on the rdna40 is much faster from 2.75 up to a full charge. 4. Durability. I've used the rdna40 as my daily mod for the last 4 months with zero issues. This includes the occasional drop on hardwood floors. The sigelei feels much cheaper built and far less durable even with the skins on both of them. Hope that helps!

Thanks Bricca!
I have never used a 18650 battery operated device (the only mod I have is the iStick 30w) and I have no idea how the battery will affect a device's performance...
Can you tell me more about what may happen when the battery gets low?

MikeyConti, I agree with you...
Also, since the devices I am interested in is relatively new (at least for the Sigelei), it should be hard to tell if it is reliable or not at this moment...
But when I am going to invest so much into a device, I hope it could serve me well as long as possible...

In two years, I have never purchased a piece of vape gear that I thought, "This thing is perfect", whether that be an atomizer, mod, battery, etc. Some are very nice, but never without their flaws.

That being said, I have been overall pleased with Sigelei products. While not perfect, I feel I got my money's worth. I have owned two Sigelei 100w+ mods for probably about 6 months and they still perform as new.

They have performed well enough, that last night I ordered the Sigelei 75W with TC from Angelcigs. Total cost of $52 and some change including a $5 shipping fee. I like the look of it and past performance from other Sigelei products leaves me to expect that I'll be pleased with it's performance, especially considering the cost.

My other potential selection was the iPV D2 75 Watt. My experience with other Pioneer4u mods ultimately made me choose the Sigelei. The finish on my two iPV Mini's is poorly done and easily chips and scratches.

I expect my new Sigelei will be at my door step in a week or so, and I'll report back with my thoughts.
